@hbirkvig will examine the origin, evolution and design of Ø/ø and Å/å as distinctive elements of Danish linguistic and cultural identity.

@frasermuggeridgestudio will explore experimental approaches to dynamic typography and challenge conventional typesetting practices.

@filipdesigniq & @radeksidun will introduce Typofix 1.0, a new open-access database of typographic rules and a web app for automated typographic proofreading in all 24 official EU languages🇪🇺

The conference will be followed by the launch of the printed publication Typofix Manual📒

Our typeface BC Vega has won silver at the @europeandesignawards in the category Original Display Typeface🥈

BC Vega emphasizes typographical precision and visual consistency, with a character that combines heritage with modern expression. BC Vega is based on Stanislav Maršo’s design for Grafotechna (1954–1963) and brings a humanized geometry typical of the Czechoslovak typographic style.

With this redesign, Briefcase Type Foundry brings new life to a forgotten typographic gem of Czechoslovak design heritage, reintroducing its humanist spirit into contemporary visual culture and transforming it into a living tool for today’s designers.

The turn of May and June was marked by a trip to the USA🇺🇸

Typofix accepted an invitation to the @atypi_org conference at Stanford University. In addition to a number of meetings, @filipdesigniq and @radeksidun spent time on the West Coast discussing the potential implementation of Typofix for @adobe and @microsoft. They also brought along a mock-up of a publication containing a comprehensive overview of the typographic rules for all EU languages.

Our online tool for checking and correcting typographic mistakes, together with the publication, will be launched later this year.
Stay tuned🟡
