Thanks to everyone who came by Open Studios last Saturday, 10.10 at |RH| Homewood!

It was lovely opening our studio doors to share a glimpse into our artists’ studio practice. From an artist market to the kids craft zone, there truly was something for everyone. And if you found a rubber duck or two, your HALL PASS just got an upgrade!

Kudos to the members + studio directors @cboringart, @nat.u.ral, and @oco.art!

We hope you’ll take us up on the chance to peak behind the curtain the rest of this month:

I was able to make it out to the @radianthall Open Studios in Homewood this past weekend. Didn’t take a ton of photos, but got to talk to a ton of artists that I don’t see often enough (and met some new ones).

The next Radiant Hall Open Studio is coming up this weekend (Oct 17) in Lawrenceville. And in McKees Rocks the following week (Oct 24).

See you there. by @radianthall

NEXT WEEK: free tax workshop for artists with Hannah Cole of @sunlighttax //

Tuesday, October 20, 6-8 PM on Zoom

What do I do with my receipts? Do I really need to pay quarterly taxes? Do I need an LLC or an S Corp? What is a Schedule C?

Bring your tax questions!

This workshop is specially designed for freelancers and artists who are fully or partially self-employed. Hannah will help you understand how your freelance income works with your other income, the mechanics of paying estimated quarterly taxes, why freelancers tend to underestimate their tax bill, and how to fix it.

The goal is to provide clear, expert-backed answers that honor your creative or mission-driven work and make you feel calmer and more empowered to file your taxes this year.

Late this summer, Tye Clarke, |RH| Communications and Events Manager, experiential artist, and founder of @gooxjy, was one of four members of Pittsburgh’s art community invited by @905wesa to select a work from the 59th Carnegie International, “if the word we.”

Her pick: Justiça, an installation by Ana Raylander Mártis dos Anjos (@anaraylander) that you could easily miss altogether (if you’re not paying attention).

Hear (or read) Tye and the other contributors’ perspectives on the exhibition and the works that stood out to them. Thank you Bill O’Driscoll + WESA for the invitation and @carnegiemuseumofart for the captivating collection.
