Wes’ first travel ball season has come to an end. It was a wild one with being so fresh postpartum and 2-6 games per week. January to July this kid put in the WORK as an underdog. Never complained, always showed up, was committed to getting better and did. First game, Sam and I were unsure if this was too much for him and by the end, we were confident in his ability to add value to the team. He crushed it at 3rd base and was always was cheering on his team.
Thankful for wonderful coaches and the fams that we crossed paths with from the goofy 9 year olds to the feral playground sibs. Not sure what’s next for this kiddo but we are always team 38. 🤍⚾️ by @radiantwithal

Birth story!
Many have reached out curious about Daphne’s journey earthside. I’ve taken some time to process because even though we had a safe and happy outcome, there were a lot of questions that remained unanswered and that I had to find peace with. I am happy to chat and answer questions if you have them. Empowering and educating about birth is still a love.
Here we go:

Monday 5/11 started having contractions at Wes’ baseball game to the point where I was starting to get uncomfortable just sitting
Put the kids to bed and then proceeded to have contractions about every 8-15 minutes throughout the night.

Tuesday I woke up to more intense contractions with show that were all over the place and that I asked Sam to stay home with me and wanted to have the kids stay with grandma.
(At George’s birth, with these signs, he was born just a few hours later.)
We went for walks around the property, labored on the ball, ate, watched hours of love on the spectrum and stand up comedy.
Sam went to Dorothy’s game and I watched from home with intense but random contractions.
Frustrated but hopeful I went to bed and slept until 3am and was woken up with frequent intense contractions.

In the morning Wednesday, we called the midwife because the contractions became closer and still very intense. I labored in every way that I knew how and we were trying inversions and positions of rest to bring Daphne down.
My friend Amber and SIL, Emily joined us.
My water broke and I had my midwife check my dilation for awareness. Still work to do and baby was still very high.
I decided to get in the tub after more hours of laboring and started feeling transitiony. After sporadic intense contractions in the tub and rest in between them. Thankfully baby and I were tolerating everything so well medically.
