The Radical Org Fair was everything we hoped for and more. It was a beautiful evening of connection, intention, and community power.

We were honored to share a space with so many brilliant organizers, students, and community members who stopped by the Radical Readers table to learn more about our work. From discussing radical education and liberation through literature, to getting new members who are ready to get involved signed up!

Thank you to everyone who brought their full selves, asked questions, shared stories, and helped us continue building this movement. Stay tuned for new member applications! 💜🖤 by @radicalreaders.clp

160 years ago today, freedom finally reached the last corner of the Confederacy.

On June 19, 1865—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation—Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to issue General Order No. 3, announcing that all enslaved people were free.

For over 250,000 African Americans still in bondage in Texas, this moment marked the beginning of their freedom. While the Proclamation had been law since 1863, enforcement depended on Union troops—and in Texas, freedom was delayed until Granger’s arrival.

Today, we honor that history through rest and fellowship- Juneteenth is a time for Black joy, reflection, and celebration. Enjoy your day everyone! 💜🖤
