This morning, PHF Senior Scientist Ernest Williams spoke to the importance of teamwork to detect nasty bugs and stop them from spreading! 🦠

Ernest is part of the Enteric Reference Laboratory team, where scientists maintain a unique collection of historical pathogen samples, some dating back 20 years! Think of it like a library, but instead of books, it stores samples that help scientists compare old pathogens with new outbreaks.

A huge thank you to Ernest and the team for their mahi, which continues to protect the health of communities all across Aotearoa.

The official music video for @rockquest 2025 winner Sahara’s debut single ‘Turcot’ is out now!!!

Originally from Waikato and now based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Sahara’s songwriting is fragile, intimate and intensely evocative. Her music blends delicate acoustic textures with raw emotional honesty, drawing inspiration from folk traditions and the stripped back grit of acoustic grunge.

Directed and edited by Ethan Alderson-Hughes, the ‘Turcot’ music video places us in a dreamlike and gothic atmosphere - head over to the @rockquest Youtube to watch the full thing.
