Matilda!

A selector with impeccable taste and a natural, intuitive flow through jazz, soul, house and eclectic selections from around the world.

This year she comes to Aan Zee fresh off launching Rotation Radio: a new community-driven, non-profit online radio station based in Stockholm, created to celebrate music, culture, and human curation in an increasingly algorithm-driven landscape.

Her set will stream live on Rotation Radio, and if the weather plays along, we’ll bring the speakers outside and let it spill into the garden. by @radiogirl___

Ernst Lilja presents:
Tower of Meaning - An evening of Arthur Russell.
@hosoisthlm 01.05.26

19-21 Matilda!
21-23 Ernst Lilja
23-01 Mika Snickars

Arthur Russell was a composer, cellist, and musician whose work resists easy definition. Moving fluidly between avant-garde minimalism, underground disco, folk, and experimental pop. Operating both within and outside of established scenes, he collaborated with poets, dancers, and musicians across New York’s downtown landscape while quietly shaping a body of work that continues to resonate far beyond its time. His music is intimate yet expansive, fragile yet rhythmic.

This evening is dedicated to the life, work, and enduring influence of Arthur Russell.

Matilda! Starts the evening off with a fluid and exploratory DJ set. As co-founder of Rotation Radio, she platforms emerging voices and fosters community within the Stockholm music scene. Her selections move freely across genres, decades, and geographies.

Ernst Lilja then continues the night by presenting a 2-hour listening session drawn from his personal vinyl collection — a careful and immersive journey through Arthur Russell’s recordings and sonic universe.

Closing the night, Mika Snickars brings his expansive musical knowledge and decades of experience behind the decks. With roots in hip-hop, early rave culture, and turntablism, his sets reflect a lifetime of dedication to music in all its forms.

Tower of Meaning will be broadcast live on rotationradio.fm

lost & found in thailand 🦋

in my 30 years on earth
i’ve learned that i know nothing
and that life
can surprise you
with the greatest unexpected joy
at any moment,
so it’s best to move
with an open heart
and just be here now
because tomorrow
might be nothing like yesterday by @radiogirl___
