'This is Ralphie. He is 6 yrs old and was diagnosed this year, in August 2026.
His previous school didn't really understand DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) which we found unusual so I went away and researched the information so we could better understand it for ourselves.
Ralphie is now in a new school and we are seeing good improvements as his school is more aware ..' Ralphie's mum, @carrie_nickolls80

Por que fonos pintaram o cabelo de roxo hoje? 💜

Hoje é o Dia Internacional de Conscientização do TDL, o Transtorno do Desenvolvimento da Linguagem.
O tema deste ano é Together for DLD: Juntos pelo TDL.

Em toda sala de aula existem, em média, 2 crianças com TDL.

São crianças que têm dificuldade persistente para entender e usar a linguagem. Elas demoram a formar frases, se perdem em explicações longas, não conseguem contar o que aconteceu no dia. E muitas vezes são vistas como tímidas, desatentas ou preguiçosas.

O TDL é comum, mas pouca gente conhece. Sem diagnóstico, essas crianças crescem achando que o problema são elas.

Por isso, fonoaudiólogas do Brasil inteiro se uniram hoje para dar cor ao que ainda é invisível.
Se você conhece uma criança que sempre parece “não entender direito”, procure uma fonoaudiólogo.
Identificar cedo muda a história dela.

DLD awareness raising has no limits! You can even raise awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) at the gym, as Marianne Collins and crew did in Cork, Ireland.

Today the 'do you have DLD?' posters are up in New York, London, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Dublin. So more people learn about DLD (Developmental Language Disorder).
