šŸŽ¶ The Full Lineup

Six incredible songwriters. One very special afternoon at Radnor Lake.

Will Robinson and Phil Vassar return as hosts, joined by Marv Green, Marcus Hummon, Karen Staley and Keith Thomas for the seventh year of Radnor in the Round.

You know the songs. Now you know the people behind them. And we may even have a surprise or two up our sleeve.

The really amazing thing is that you sold it out in just two weeks—before you even knew who was playing. That says a lot about this community and how much you believe in Radnor Lake.

It will be an unforgettable afternoon of music, stories and community at Dyer Observatory, all in support of Friends of Radnor Lake.

The lineup is set. We can’t wait to see you on the mountain this Sunday! šŸ‚ by @radnorlake

After one of the hottest summers on record, we’re more than ready for cooler temperatures and a little fall color at Radnor Lake. šŸ‚

The first true colors are beginning to emerge, with reds, golds, and oranges appearing throughout the canopy. And this is just the beginning—peak color is expected throughout the first week of November.

The Park will soon be dressed in its full autumn color. What a gift. šŸ’š

A visit to Radnor this time of year is a reminder to slow down and notice. 🌿

As we look ahead to cooler weather and changing leaves, there’s already a wide variety of color to discover throughout the Park—from strawberry bush, brown-eyed Susans and longroot smartweed to plume thistles, ironweed and Carolina buckthorn.

And while we enjoy the beauty, wildlife is enjoying it too. Strawberry bush isn’t called ā€œdeer ice creamā€ for nothing!

There’s always something new to see and experience at Radnor. šŸ’š

Today is DAF Day!

You may have heard the term DAF without knowing exactly what it means.

A Donor Advised Fund is a charitable giving account that lets you set aside money for future giving, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants to nonprofits over time.

If you already have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to Friends of Radnor Lake through your fund provider. And if you don’t, it’s worth learning more. A DAF can be a simple way to make charitable giving part of your financial plan and support the causes you care about.

However you choose to give, we’re grateful that you choose Radnor Lake!

Thank you to @NFocusmagazine, cover girl Amy Atkinson, a longtime supporter and member of the Friends of Radnor Lake Advisory Board, and Park Manager Steve Ward for this beautiful four-page feature exploring the benefits of spending time in nature, specifically at Radnor Lake.

As a protected Class II State Natural Area, Radnor’s first priority is protecting the ecosystem and providing refuge for wildlife. Along the way, it has also become a treasured place for people—a safe, quiet place to stretch our legs and step away from the rhythms of everyday life.

Research continues to show that walking in nature can do more than get us moving. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and quiet the repetitive thoughts that can weigh us down.

A good reminder that some days, a long walk in the woods is all we need.

Pick up the October issue of NFocus Magazine to read the full story.

Happy October! šŸ‚

There’s a certain busyness that comes with fall. Wildlife is preparing for the season ahead, leaves are beginning to change, and life seems to pick up its pace.

It’s easy to get caught up in it all.

When was the last time you stopped long enough to watch a squirrel?

Sometimes the best moments are the ones we weren’t looking for. ā¤ļø

Thank you to @newschannel5 for visiting our Barbara J. Mapp Aviary and helping us share some exciting news!

The Aviary enclosure renovation is nearing completion, thanks in large part to our incredible Park staff and volunteers who have been hard at work all summer preparing the space.

And this is why the Aviary is here. šŸ¦… To provide a safe place for raptors who cannot survive in the wild—to live, thrive and help us teach others about their species.

Bald Eagle #3 was facing euthanasia because of her injuries, but U.S. wildlife officials determined she is a wonderful candidate for the Aviary. Once the enclosure permit is approved, there’s still some paperwork to complete, but if all goes as expected, we anticipate she will join us by the end of the year.

Radnor Lake is proud to be a recipient of the Nissan Neighbors Grant, funded by the @nissan Foundation in support of our volunteer program. We’re incredibly grateful to the Nissan volunteers who have given their time, energy and muscle to help prepare her new home.

We’ll keep you posted as this exciting next chapter takes shape.

🌿 Today is National Public Lands Day.

A day to appreciate the parks, waters, and wildlife that are protected for everyone to enjoy — and to recognize the people who work to preserve these special places.

More than 53 years ago, our community came together to save Radnor Lake.

Today, Radnor Lake State Natural Area encompasses more than 1,400 acres, protected and preserved for generations to come. And still growing.

Every acre tells a story.

And that story continues because people care enough to protect Radnor Lake — from the vision and leadership that guide its future, to the Park staff who care for it every day, to the supporters who help make that future possible. Thank you for being part of it. šŸ’š
