before the night ends, i just want to express my gratitude for @aicc_sf and our collaboration, for giving me the opportunity to create and platform to share.

here’s an excerpt of my pitch on creating the theme: embodied resistance

Embodied Resistance showcases how indigenous peoples use clothing to reclaim their cultural identity and resist colonial influences. By blending traditional craftsmanship with modern styles, designers create garments that celebrate indigenous aesthetics and challenge mainstream fashion norms.

Indigenous fashion becomes a statement of pride and activism, asserting cultural presence and reclaiming narratives. Embodied Resistance underscores the power of clothing as a tool for cultural expression, empowerment, and advocacy, allowing indigenous peoples to assert their agency and reclaim ownership of their narratives on their own terms.
