One week to go! Join us for the opening of ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 next Saturday the 3rd of October at 5 PM!

🔊One of the participating artists is RADVLAD (@radvlad).

RADVLAD is the artistic moniker of multimedia artist Vladimir Vidanovski, who deals with the flux of identity and truth due to the manipulative properties of the image. How does image culture circulate and evolve in unique ways during digital times?

RADVLAD’s practice involves worldbuilding and creating characters through photography, motion imagery, sound, CGI and performance. With this, the artist shares stories stemming from his own memories, desires and observations from his Online wanderings.

In ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 he presents three works: Reduce artifacts (2022-ongoing), A CAUTIONARY TALE (2022) and What are you looking for? (2021) - all questioning reality by using technological advancements, identity politics, queerness and the vastness of the human mind as motives.

On Saturday the 3rd of October at 5 PM, the exhibition ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 will open its doors!

What lies on the thin line between the unheimlich and the homey, the cute and the eerie, something familiar yet unsettling? As digital archives continue to expand, the past has never felt more present, preserved in an ever-growing collection of sounds, images, texts, and cultural artefacts. Endlessly recycled, resurfacing and remixed into new forms, these fragments carry the traces of an earlier online life full of possibility. Reappearing amid an endless stream of slop and brainrot, they leave us with a melancholic longing for the futures we once imagined - nothing really dies while the future seems dead.

ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 brings together five artist(duo)s who find themselves in a cultural in-between: too young to remember a time fully disconnected from the internet, yet old enough to have experienced the more utopian possibilities of early online life. Drawing on samples, fragments, aesthetics, and memories of earlier eras, they explore our desire to find comfort in what came before, while confronting the unease of a present haunted by what might have been.

LINE UP - SPITE Vol.1 ✨SEPTEMBER 18th✨

@radvlad (he/she/they) is a Macedonian singer/songwriter, producer, and visual
artist based in Rotterdam. His genre-bending music includes motifs from early
2000s pop to modern-day hyperpop, Enya-esque ballads to 90s happy hardcore, and
deconstructed club music to cinematic soundscapes. With each song he navigates
mountains of steep arpeggios, rivers of sparkly plucks and heavily thundering
beats.

AZBUKA floats between a performance-lecture, a kid’s educational show, and hybrid video art. Inspired by the iconic 1980s Macedonian children’s TV show Bushava Azbuka (Shaggy Alphabet), it “teaches” the Macedonian alphabet from A to Ш to the audience through RADVLAD’s onstage TV presenter persona and accompanying videos.

As the alphabet unfolds, innocent words gradually shift into political, ideological, and violent language, revealing how history, nationalism, and prejudice can be embedded in education. Through interaction with RADVLAD, the audience is forced to question how national identity is taught, performed, and inherited in a young country with a fragmented history such as North Macedonia.

We were honoured to welcome RADVLAD @radvlad to 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒅𝒆𝒏: 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏.

RADVLAD is the artistic moniker of multimedia artist Vladimir Vidanovski from North Macedonia. Working across photography, moving image, CGI, sound and performance, his practice explores how images shape perceptions of identity, reality and desire in contemporary digital culture. Through speculative worlds and fictional characters, RADVLAD examines the instability between the real and the imagined, questioning how technology, online image circulation and visual culture influence the ways bodies are perceived and identities are constructed. Within After Eden, his work contributed to the exhibition’s exploration of identity beyond fixed origins, reflecting on how bodies and selves are continuously transformed through memory, desire and digital imagination.
