We finally got to some plastering this year! Upside down was an extra challenge, but made much easier with a super sticky mix of site clay and lots of straw(60%)! following a recipe I learned with @theyearofmud. Thank your good friends for all the helping hands that make this kind of work possible🙏 @tfceramics, Megan and @dipietro_nic0. And of course the biggest shoutout to my ride or die @thereisnocold, for the endless untold hours of work and patience and practice it takes to do things like this these days. #Clay plaster #naturalplaster #roundpoletimberframe by @radysh_made

Got a booth at the new marketplace here in town with @thereisnocold! It’s a great new shopping center with over 30 booths full of art, crafts and collectibles. taken in Fayetteville, West Virginia by @radysh_made

After some weeks off of crafting getting siding and other work done I finally made a thing! A present for my niece’s birthday at her request.

Pretty happy with how this butterfly hair stick came out. First time trying a two pronged hair stick and it works so well! I kept the carving more simple as I haven’t done much figurative work with wood till now either and it feels good to keep pushing my skill set.

Slides of siding progress also included:) the wood you see here is milled from hemlock on our land. I just ordered the rest of the siding to complete the loft and utility room below from our excellent local sawyer @newriverfarmssawmill, as I have not set the mill back up after the excavation and grading project this spring. by @radysh_made

@thereisnocold and I have been chipping away at this collab for a little over a year now and l am excited to finally announce the Tripod Folding Stool is now available for sale!

Perfect for your next outdoor adventure or as additional stow-able seating in your home or camper, the stools are made with extremely strong and weather resistant hand-carved locust legs, and a durable veg tanned leather top. The cinching leather strap hold the legs closed and makes carrying this baby a breeze!

DM me if you have any questions and as always the link in my bio will get you to the online store where these are available to order now 🙏

Bowl making pt. 2

After getting the bowl 95% finished I let it sit to dry for a week or two. Depending on the relative humidity I might leave it out or put it in a plastic bag to slow drying, reducing the risk of cracking.

Finishing process to come in pt. 3

Bowl making.

Countless strokes to shape these vessels.

This one is some poplar from a tree I cut down for house site expansion. Such a pleasure to carve, like butter.

Exploring textures as usual.
