First day of kindergarten for this new 5 year old! Josh called her before we left and promised funny-face pancakes for dinner to celebrate, so that I’m sure was something to keep her looking forward. It seemed she was so excited she couldn’t focus and was dancing around singing instead of getting dressed :) Walking the couple blocks to school she was nervous but, no tears for either of us. Although, I was distracted with photo taking and Marlee wrangling, sending Josh a photo at work on the other hand caused him to admit an emotional pause- daddy’s first girl is growing too fast. Marlee however watching Quinn walk inside pouted “I want my Quinny”😍 This is a big change for us, I have been confident for her but dreading it for me. I know she is ready. She has been writing her name since just three years old, alphabet:check, numbers:check, working on days of the week, months, seasons & she recently started doing math in her head all on her own! Imaginative artist, precise colorer, balancing hiker, learned to be a two wheel biker in just a day this summer, a singer and dancer all day everyday. I’m going to need some time to get used to this being away from my amazing big girl...The day went by quickly though and Marlee and I had quality time together, and making something special for Quinn, but she missed her too. The last photo is from pick up. When I asked how it went she said “really great but we didn’t do any singing” ha, maybe soon kid. Marlee said “Quinny I missed you so much!” Piece by piece we heard bits about her fun day. Art work shown, book orders to place, adorable confession about forgetting to raise her hand when she spoke...she really did rock it! by @raebrown

Josh got me a new camera for Mother’s Day. At our NH weekend pond picnic gathering I set up a mini photo shoot for our whole family. (We were really doing them for my Nana’s life story which has been written by her and compiled by generous family in Utah) I had less control with our family shot as I wasn’t behind the tripod/lens to tweak the angles etc, hence the major sun glare. Will post the other shots :) taken in Washington, New Hampshire by @raebrown

Second (because without our union you would not be...and, well, you are two today)

Dearest Marlee. Two years. TWO. Independent, although it is strongest when you want to be, but mommy is the constant who has slowly been able to gain back her own independent bathroom breaks! That being said our nursing relationship is still a living & loving bond that we are blessed to have in the year of two and beyond.
Our little love has a vocabulary that is blossoming daily, understands way more than one may think based on her constant babble conversations since as long as I can remember as well as many mommy interpreted garbled pronunciations. (Side note: It dawned on me today with Quinn that it is difficult to correct diction if you do not understand letter sounds just yet)

Well little lady, you are have quite the good manners, are quick to apologize and give out love. Love for your family near and far, their names constantly in your chatter and faces correctly recognized most in photos albums. Animals are really exciting and let’s not forget your adorable rendition of the baby shark song.
One of the best copycat things you do lately is attempting ballet moves with Quinn, it began on your own and now she is trying to teach you! That amazing giggly relationship with your big sister just too much for words. Music and dancing are a daily must, unfortunately you are difficult to get on camera with the infamous “the kid stopped as soon as I picked up the camera” but you sure are happy 98% of the time, the other 2% might just be meanmugging.
You so you love being outside, going for walks, even in the stroller still depending on your mood. Strongly opinionated over here for sure. Mismatched socks, nooope. Shirt you don’t like, not happening. Thankfully lately it’s been the polite-ish ‘no tantu’ pushing things away. Ahhh the twos...terrible until the threenager emerges.
Thank you Jesus for the magic of nursing, naptime, kissed boo boos, spring air and@sunshine, book reading and story time, art projects & daddy coming home at the end of the day to all the play and snuggles. There is so much more to write, we love you MarMar. by @raebrown

First. Nine whole years wed to this handsome man. You continue to make me laugh every day. Feeling spoiled lately. Fatherhood suits you well with adoring genuine goofy heart of a child you have within. Just keeps getting better & I couldn’t ask for more.
