Halloween with the cast of CARS. I was the checkered flag. 🏁 The neighborhood never disappoints! So many memories of taking my girls ever year through these streets with @ella.grac.e @sophier0100 @robertsonamyjo @tominator_1967 — so many great Halloweens to come! @reaceout @reilly.ch @carleeizzie @jasonryan6 by @raeging_word

Moogie for the Halloween win with the shrimp costume! Reilly made this in college (she is allergic to shellfish so she carried her epi pen) 😂 Moogie with the recycle. Happy Halloween! We had a fun night at Grey’s cheese shop for their Nightmare on Cheese Street wine & cheese pairing with horror movie clips! @moogiebar by @raeging_word

Wow! What a busy, but epic weekend with friends and family! We attended a beautiful wedding and watched @reaceout give a heartwarming speech. We were honored to attend Carlee’s graduation from nursing school — she’s a first generation graduate! @carleeizzie — then mom turned 89 @moogiebar We VOTED early (here I showcase how much my White House Ivy has grown in just two years!) …and finished off the weekend with family pumpkin carving and painting! I love this time of year. Autumn is my favorite! by @raeging_word

Spent my afternoon at the Southern Festival of Books. Got to hear a talk with Kevin Wilson (he’s as funny in person as his writing) …saw Ruta Sepetys (wow!) and also author Silas House. I met Betsy Thorpe (who wrote the first book I read about the Dutchman’s Curve train wreck) and also another train expert who told me several things I did not know about my topic. It was such a lovely, productive and enjoyable day. I could have spent hours upon hours here. What a gem of a festival! ““Historical fiction sits on the shoulders of non-fiction, history, memoirs.” ~ Ruta Sepetys by @raeging_word

Happy Anniversary to this guy. It’s been 17 years of quarterly squirrels, ins/outs, UT cheers, house renovations and lots and lots of adventures including a dozen + trips to our favorite place —> Culebra.
He’s super cute too. 😘 Feeling all the loves— I’ll keep him around (I’m still waiting for him to write my love song) …that’s why I’m keeping him around. 🙃 by @raeging_word

Bienvenidos al porche de Culebra! 🐍 by @raeging_word

Saturday in the swamps. I do not condone alligator hunting, however these Cajuns just caught this alligator at the same time I was in the swamp. 9 foot (my kayak was 10 ft) — just documenting. Great Étouffée at Jacques-Imo’s — visit to the Skeleton House. by @raeging_word

Let’s just call this Thursday night.
Nashville —> New Orleans by @raeging_word

We need to “date night” more often! Ironically the best parts of the evenings are always in our own backyard. We are so fortunate to have been able to build the life we have! @jasonryan6 by @raeging_word

This gorgeous new addition to my sound bath is not only mesmerizing by candlelight — it makes the most ethereal sounds.
