These primordial beings swim via jet propulsion. Similar to humans, they don't reach sexual maturity until they are 15 years old! Nautiloids have preserved a similar body design for the past 500 million years despite having great genetic diversity. Probably because they're perfect! 🐚🤎

Green Man Mask 🌿🍒🌸
The green man is a symbol of rebirth and new growth. His foliate head can be found carved on many medieval churches, though his roots likely stem from multiple ancient cultures.

I needle felted him from cruelty free fibers that I hand dyed. The berry bunches I made from flexible clay, wire, and enamels. $425, more pics on Etsy.

Here is how I made it for those who are curious:

Needle felted bamboo, flax, and recycled synthetic fibers. Hand-painted glass eyes gilded with 12k white gold and 22k yellow gold. PLA and glass tears. Flexible resin clay nose. Naturally shed pig hair whiskers. Engraved glass panels.

So pleased! I do very few gallery shows and even fewer fewer museum shows!! Anyone else find it incredibly challenging to find time to do the business side of art? Creating is already a full-time job!

Wallcreeper Crown! Entirely handmade - the bird is needle felted, the band is sculpted with a 3D pen, the flowers are a special flexible clay with glass bead anthers.

I was so excited to get this commission. I love when people request pieces that provide a little challenge and feel like a natural expansion of my body of work.

Needle felted Portrait of Clarice Lispector with gilded glass eyes~

Clarice Lispector was a modernist Brazilian author whose work explores radical empathy. Her novel “The Passion According to G. H.” takes place almost entirely in a single moment after a woman crushes a cockroach, exploring the revelations she experiences as she watches the dying animal.

She writes:
“With my hands quietly clasped on my lap, I was having a feeling of tender timid joy. It was an almost nothing, like when the breeze makes a blade of grass tremble. It was almost nothing, but I could make out the minuscule movement of my timidity. I don't know, but with distressed idolatry I was approaching something, and with the delicateness of one who is afraid. I was approaching the most powerful thing that had ever happened to me...I was handing myself over, to whatever was no longer I, to whatever is already inhuman. And handing myself over with the trust of belonging to the unknown..the simultaneous present no longer scared me, and in the furthest extremity of me I could
finally smile without even smiling. At last I was stretching beyond my sensibility.” (188-9)
