The MESOPOTAMIA Necklace 🗿 A revolving cylinder seal inscribed with ancient Mesopotamian figures.

Cylinder seals were adapted to the clay economy of Mesopotamia and functioned both as identifiers, as “locks”, and as protective, symbolic objects.

Ancient Mesopotamian cylinder seals, dating from around 3500 BCE, are cylindrical stone artifacts engraved with intricate designs used for personal identification and securing documents.

This one is made from steatite stone featuring scenes of mythology, and religious symbols, reflecting the artistry and culture of early civilizations in the Tigris-Euphrates region.

The frame holding the stone is a reflection of the symbols engraved onto the seal. With two ambiguous animals hand sculpted in gold complimenting the gems design. by @rafaelindiana
