I grew up in the Catholic church and was baptized as an infant. I attended Sunday school, served as an altar boy, and went through confirmation. After that, my family stopped attending church regularly, and as I got older, I began prioritizing other things above my relationship with God. I focused heavily on school, my career, and chasing success while trying to handle life’s struggles on my own.

Late last year, I hit a low point in my life and cried out to the Lord differently than I ever had before. I prayed honestly and asked Him for help with the circumstances I was facing. During that time, I strongly felt God leading me to spend time in His Word. As I began consistently reading the Bible and attending @christcovenantatlanta, I came to understand the gospel more clearly: that I am a sinner saved not by my own works, but by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus lived the perfect life I could not live, died for my sins, and rose again so that I could be forgiven and have new life in Him.

Since then, my relationship with God has become real and personal in a new way. The anxiety and depression I quietly struggled with for years have gone away in a way that I can only attribute to God’s work in my life. He has given me peace, purpose, conviction, and a desire to know Him more. Instead of living only for myself, I now want my life to glorify Him.

This baptism is a public declaration of my faith in Jesus Christ and as an act of obedience to Him. While I was baptized as an infant, I now personally and knowingly profess my faith and continue walking with the Lord. taken in Atlanta, GA by @rafasanmusic
