Baba, it feels like I can still feel your hand on back of my head. Oh Allah, Baba used to work so hard to watch us smile. Please let him be the one able to smile down on us now. He passed on his love for culture, food, engineering, transportation, work ethic, positivity to strangers, handiness, and so much more.

Baba, we had so many plans for the future. We were supposed to go to Japan and see the bullet trains, we were supposed to see the northern lights and go salmon fishing in Alaska, I was supposed to help you get ready for retirement, we were supposed to watch the World Cup and Olympics together when they came back to the states.

Being able to get you to experience some of those things were goals I really wanted to achieve in my life and I am so sorry I couldn't do that with you. At 25 years old I was still kissing you good night and I would have continued to for another lifetime if I had the opportunity. I never left because I loved this family too much and now that you left me I feel like I lost part of my heart. You did so much and sacrificed so much for me, I always wanted to be able to repay the favor and make you happy, and I'm so sorry I couldn't do that more.

I know we'll be okay because you prepared us so well, but it's hard to say goodbye. We could never be ready for it. But, we'll love you always and your impact will be left for generations to come. I love you always Baba.
