WE DID IT. 🥹❤️

DKMS officials have confirmed that this is the biggest campaign they have ever organised. Across all DKMS entities worldwide, this is the largest offline stem cell donor registration drive to date.

So proud of everyone who worked tirelessly behind this cause. What a magical example of teamwork, humanity and what we can achieve when we come together for something bigger than ourselves. What a beautiful world to live in. ❤️

To every single person who showed up, registered and became part of this movement ,THANK YOU. You may never know what this means to someone waiting for a match, but you have given us something priceless: hope.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

I honestly don’t think I have fully taken in what you all have done. What started as something so small has travelled so far, reached so many people, and brought together people who may never even meet me. I never imagined this campaign would become what it is today.

And it happened because of you.

Every registration, every share, every message, every conversation, every person who told someone else about this , somehow, all those tiny things have turned into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined.

How beautiful is humanity when people come together for someone they may never even meet? And that is what makes this so much bigger than myself.

It is about representation. It is about our communities coming together. It is about having more people from our communities on the donor registry, so that when someone needs a donor tomorrow, they have a little more hope and a better chance of finding one.

And that is what makes this weekend so special to me. 🥹

Two continents. Two drives. One little step that could mean the world to someone. And honestly, just look at us now. 🥹

People are already asking, “What can we do in our city?” and more drives are already being planned in places like Perinthalmanna, Kozhikode, Tirur, Wayanad and beyond.

I never imagined something that began so small would reach this far.I’m genuinely awestruck by the magic called humanity.

And to every single person who has been part of this , I hope you know this:

The world is definitely a better place because you are in it. Thank you for taking that tiny step. You never know… it could become someone’s second chance at life. ❤️

Sometimes, the hardest part of being unwell isn’t just what happens to your body. It’s what happens to the world around you.

The conversations that fade. The friendships that become distant. The people who don’t know what to say, so they say nothing at all.

I wanted to write about this, not to blame anyone, but because I believe we need to talk about it.

I am privileged to have the space to process my emotions, reflect on my experience and put some of it into words. But I often think about people facing a life-changing diagnosis in circumstances far harsher than mine. People in oncology and haematology wards who may not even have a proper bed, let alone the comfort, privacy or infection precautions they need.

If navigating the emotional weight of this journey is difficult for me, with the privileges and support I have, I cannot help but wonder how much harder it must be for them.

I would never wish this journey on anyone. But having to experience it myself has taught me how much it matters to feel seen, remembered and included.

Sometimes, it really is the smallest things. A message asking how I am. An unexpected phone call. An invitation for a cup of tea. A conversation about absolutely nothing.

Keep making plans. Keep including them. And remember the people caring for them, too. Partners, parents, siblings and caregivers need their people, too.

I started sharing my journey because I wanted the world to know that I am more than my diagnosis. Perhaps part of that journey is also using my voice to help others understand what illness can mean beyond the physical symptoms.

If sharing my experience helps even one person feel less alone, or helps someone learn how to show up for a friend, then perhaps something meaningful can come from all of this.

We are people before we become patients. We are people while we are patients. And we will always be more than our diagnosis. 🫂 by @rafiyasherin

When students come together, they don’t just break records; they create history! 🙌

For Rafiya, an alumna battling aplastic anaemia, students from Sullamussalam Science College, Areekode, united the community and achieved a remarkable feat of 11,000 + registrations.

To everyone who made it happen, and every person who showed up, YOU are the heroes of this story.
You didn't just set a record; you also showed the world what students can do when they choose to stand up for someone else.

You came together for Rafiya and gave hope to many patients waiting for a second chance at life.
