🏡È una sorpresa quando entri all’interno della House of Culture @kultsahelsinki per la bellezza degli spazi !
🏡Altro capolavoro di Aalto, unisce un auditorium famosissimo per la sua acustica (e anche per gli artisti che si sono esibiti: fra tutti Jimi Hendrix) e un’ala amministrativa collegata da una pensilina.
📐Voluta dal Partito Comunista Finlandese e inaugurata nel 1958, oggi l’House of Culture non rinnega la sua vocazione sociale, con concerti, performance ed eventi culturali. Una recente ristrutturazione ad opera del talentuoso team @jkmmarchitects, unisce l’architettura di ieri con la visione contemporanea della nuova generazione del progetto finlandese 📐

🏡Stepping inside the House of Culture, the beauty of the spaces comes as a delightful surprise! 🏡Another masterpiece by Aalto, it combines an auditorium renowned for its acoustics—and for the artists who have performed there, including Jimi Hendrix—with an administrative wing linked by a canopy. 🏡Commissioned by the Finnish Communist Party and inaugurated in 1958, the House of Culture remains true to its social mission today, hosting concerts, performances, and cultural events. 📐A recent renovation by the talented local team at JKMM blends the architecture of the past with the contemporary vision of a new generation of Finnish design 📐

📐Dalla casa allo studio ci vogliono solo 5 minuti ed è emozionante percorrere la stessa strada che Aalto ed Elissa ( la sua seconda moglie) percorrevano insieme tutti i giorni.
📐Realizzato fra il 1954-55 e poi ampliato nel 1962, lo studio esprime benissimo il metodo creativo della coppia, basato sulla costante collaborazione: gli spazi sono aperti, progettati intorno alla luce, punteggiati da soluzioni sperimentali che ancora oggi lasciano a bocca aperta… C’erano la cucina e la ‘mensa’ dove mangiare tutti insieme.

📐It takes just five minutes to get from the house to the studio, and it is moving to walk the same path that Aalto and Elissa (his second wife) used to take together every day.
📐Built between 1954 and 1955 and later expanded in 1962, the studio perfectly embodies the couple’s creative method, rooted in constant collaboration: the spaces are open, designed around the light, and punctuated by experimental solutions that still leave one awestruck today...

🏡Dopo aver dormito nella Finlandia Homes al @finlandiatalo, dedicata ad Aino Aalto, non potevo certo mancare di vedere la sua casa, che ha progettato insieme al marito Alvar negli anni ‘30 e dove poi anche Elissa, sposata in secondo nozze, abitó, contribuendo lei stessa ad alcune nuove soluzioni d’arredo.
🏡La casa è viva, vera, familiare, piena di fascino, unica per come gli Aalto seppero mischiare materiali, forme, colori e stili di epoche diverse e mondi lontani. L’impressione è che i coniugi Aalto siano appena usciti e tu stia aspettando in salotto il loro ritorno❤️‍🔥!

🏡After staying in the Finland Home dedicated to Aino Aalto, a visit to the house she designed with her husband in the 1930s was a must—a home where Elissa, Aalto’s second wife, also lived and contributed her own ideas for furnishings.
🏡The house feels alive and authentic, brimming with charm and unique, for the way the Aaltos blended materials, shapes, colors, and styles from different eras and distant worlds.
🏡You get the distinct impression that the couple has just stepped out and you are simply waiting in the living room for their return ❤️‍🔥!

⭐️Dormire a casa degli Aalto, più precisamente a casa di Aino.
⭐️Le Finlandia Homes appena ristrutturate offrono la straordinaria esperienza di vivere quel ‘sense of living’ pieno di energia, di emozione e di poesia, che caratterizza tutti gli interni firmati da Alvar Aalto, prima insieme ad Aino e poi con Elissa. ⭐️Le Finlandia Homes un tempo destinate al personale della @finlandiatalo , ora accolgono chiunque voglia passare dei giorni fra i mobili e le idee dei coniugi Aalto.
⭐️Io l’ho fatto ed è stato bellissimo! ❤️‍🔥

✏️Uno sguardo diverso ma soprattutto umano sulla città.
🌆 È quello dell’architetto danese @pihlmann, che potrai ascoltare il giorno 15 ottobre in occasione di @seed360official, Festival Internazionale di Architettura.
❤️Che piacere introdurre la sua lectio per ascoltare e rivedere quello che ho visto dal vero a Copenhagen: ‘curare’ gli edifici che esistono già si può, funziona e il risultato è emozionante!

✏️A different—but above all, human—perspective on the city. 📐It comes from Danish architect @pihlmann, whom you can hear speak on October 15th at the Seed event, International Festival of Architecture.

✏️È sempre bellissimo raccontare un progetto ‘dal vivo’ … se poi il progettista è anche la tua guida, allora questa esperienza diventa unica!
🌊Mi è capitato trai fiordi delle Faroe Islands, un luogo fuori dall’ordinario: qui ho visitato il Klaksvík Row Club, pubblicato nel numero di Settembre di @arketipomag, insieme al suo autore, l’architetto @osbjoern.jacobsen (🙏🙏🙏🙏) di @henninglarsenarchitects, voce originalissima dell’architettura faroese, e pluripremiata a livello internazionale.
📐Un progetto speciale, dedicato alla passione sportiva faroese per eccellenza, il canottaggio. L’edificio tutto di legno e con il prato sul tetto, è affacciato su un paesaggio mozzafiato 😮, che valorizza e rispetta!

✏️It is always wonderful to write about a project that I saw up close... but when the architect acts as your guide, the experience becomes truly unique!
🌊This is exactly what happened to me amidst the fjords of the Faroe Islands, an extraordinary place. There I visited the Klaksvík Rowing Club (published in the September issue of *Arketipo*) alongside its designer, the architect @osbjoern.jacobsen (🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏) of Henning Larsen studio, a highly original and internationally acclaimed voice in Faroese architecture.
📐It is a special project dedicated to the quintessential Faroese sporting passion: rowing. Built entirely of wood and featuring a grass roof, the building overlooks a breathtaking landscape 😮, that it both respects and enhances.

💃🏼Sí, la danza è proprio felicitá, e lo si leggeva sui volti (compreso il mio) delle ‘ballerine’ (2000😮) di tutte le età che hanno partecipato alla prima marcia di @ondance.it al @castellosforzescomilano. Grazie come sempre a @robertobolle per aver dimostrato che la danza è: 🎶proprio per tutti e quindi democratica; 🧑‍🩰onesta, perché appare come è; 🩰sostenibile, perché basta una strada o un parco per praticarla; 💕appassionante perché ti libera la mente e l’anima!
💃🏼150 scuole di danza hanno partecipato e anche scuole per adulti per la prima volta!
💃🏼Evviva la danza e i suoi ballerini/e💃🏼🧑‍🩰🎶

💃🏼Yes, dance is truly happiness—you could see it on the faces (including my own) of the dancers (2,000 of them! 😮) of all ages who took part in the first @ondance.it march at Milan’s Sforza Castle. 🎶Thanks, as always, to Roberto Bolle for showing that dance is: 🩰truly for everyone—and therefore democratic; 🧑‍🩰honest, because it appears exactly as it is; ⭐️sustainable, because all you need is a street or a park to practice it; and ❤️‍🔥exhilarating, because it frees your mind and soul!
💃🏼150 schools participated—including, for the first time, schools for adults!
💃🏼Long live dance and its dancers! 💃🏼🧑‍🩰🎶

🎶Sono tantissime le scuole di ballo a Londra.
🧑‍🩰Molte rigenerano luoghi destinati all’abbandono, come la @liftislington, nel cuore di Angel, che ha trasformato un’ex scuola di quartiere in un hub culturale con sale da ballo, palestra, aree per meeting, sale musica e e registrazione, ma anche semplici salottini per incontrarsi e chiacchierare.
🧑‍🩰Io ci ho ballato. Esmeralda ⭐️ 🙏 a @balletalto and @il_danzatore_insospettabile

🎶There are countless dance schools in London.
🧑‍🩰Many are regenerating spaces destined for abandonment, like @liftislington , in the heart of Angel, which has transformed a former neighborhood school into a cultural hub with dance studios, a gym, meeting areas, music and recording studios, and even simple lounges for meeting and chatting.
🧑‍🩰I danced there. Esmeralda ⭐️ 🙏to @balletalto and @il_danzatore_insospettabile

Quattro giorni di full immersion nella danza. E a Londra!
🩰Grazie al @il_danzatore_insospettabile per il bellissimo programma del l’Adult Summer Intensive 2026: sotto la guida del bravissimo e paziente ‘maestro’ Simone Pinchera di @balletalto , ballerine di tutte le età e di tutti i livelli hanno studiato ‘classica’ e provato a danzare (che emozione🧑‍🩰😮) la variazione di Esmeralda, scoprendone la storia e le grandi protagoniste del passato.
🧑‍🩰Certo, il ‘corpo di ballo’ non era quello del Royal Ballet ma forse non così distante per passione e impegno! 💕

🧑‍🩰Four days of full immersion in dance. And in London!
🩰Thanks to the @il_danzatore_insospettabile for the wonderful program of the Adult Summer Intensive 2026: under the guidance of the talented and patient “maestro” Simone Pinchera of @balletalto , dancers of all ages and levels studied classical ballet and attempted to dance (how 🥰exciting) the variation of Esmeralda, discovering its history and the great protagonists of the past.
🧑‍🩰Sure, the “corps de ballet” was certainly not that of the Royal Ballet, but perhaps not so far behind in passion and commitment! 💕

💦Ferragosto milanese alla @fondazioneprada dove è sempre bello tornare (ma soprattutto trovare quiete e fresco💦).
💦Due le mostre: “Dash”dell’artista cinese @cao_fei Fei, che indaga il rapporto fra tecnologia e agricoltura nella Cina rurale, e ‘Over, Under and in Between’ di @mona_hatoum, con tre opere site specific che dialogano con la luce e l’architettura della vecchia cisterna. Bellissime (e super fresche 💦💦💦💦😂).

💦Milan’s Ferragosto at the Fondazione Prada, where it’s always nice to return (but above all to find quiet and cool 💦). Two exhibitions: Dash by Chinese artist Cao Fei, who explores the relationship between technology and agriculture in rural China, and ‘Over, Under and in Between’ by Mona Hatoum, with three site-specific works that dialogue with the light and architecture of the old cistern. Beautiful (and super cool 💦💦💦💦😂).

🩰Una full immersion nella danza. Dove? Ma a Venezia!
🩰Dalla sperimentazione della Biennale Danza 2026 @labiennale con la presentazione dei lavori di giovani coreografi emergenti (compresi i ballerini, bravissimi) al ‘mio’ bellissimo stage estivo aperto a danzatrici di tutte le età, 🧑‍🩰che ogni anno @beatricecarboneofficial, già ballerina solista al Teatro della Scala, organizza tra le ‘sue’ calli veneziane: sbarra, centro e… Sirtaki con l’aggiunta di 💃🏼 Flamenco, insegnato dalla celebre ‘maestra’ @danzamaraterzi .
🎭E poi la Biennale Arte che occhieggia dovunque!
🩰Cosa vuoi di più 💃🏼💪❤️‍🔥🎶

🩰A full immersion in dance. Where? In Venice!
🧑‍🩰From the experimental Biennale Danza 2026, presenting the works of young emerging choreographers (including some truly talented dancers) to “my” wonderful summer workshop open to dancers of all ages, which Beatrice Carbone, former soloist at the Teatro della Scala, organizes every year in “her” Venetian ‘calli’: barre, center, and... Sirtaki with the addition of Flamenco💃🏼, taught by the renowned “maestra” Mara Terzi. 🎭And then there’s the Biennale Arte, peeking out from everywhere!
