1 of 1 in collaboration with @chyndyfyed using handcrafted 𝙂𝙤𝙙𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙞 fabric from Jaipur, Rajasthan. This textile takes on different names throughout the country. Women layer a minimum of 5-6 old cotton sarees, stitch them together, taking days (sometimes weeks!!) of work to produce a single piece & give the textile it’s unique texture. It’s typically made as a gift for new mothers & is a reminder of how sustainability/repurposing has always been a part of our culture. With this piece, we hope to have taken that tradition forward <3 will be in shop soon 💋 @newplayground.bandra This is a zoomed in picture of a few inches of the fabric & just this probably has a 100 stitches imagine filling metres of fabric w this the bodice + pads are made w two sides of the same piece of cloth!! Sooo many colours & patterns 😍 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I could stare at this for hours only at @newplayground.bandra by @ragdoll.in
