How much can I deadlift while being in a calorie deficit for over a month, losing over 10kg bodyweight, and getting nerfed by cardio?

Went raw with no kit so I don’t do anything silly 😅

Was looking forward to this session because I wanted to throw some kit on and push it a little bit. This was a lot of fun and a bit easier than I thought so went further and did a few extra reps at the end of the 12 minute EMOM.

Deadlift started at 220kg, increasing by 10kg each round, finishing at 290kg.

Tough day in the office, but that’s sport.

Struggled to find the fire in me to bring it out on the floor. Did everything we could in the moment, with a few costly mistakes along the way, but it is what it is.

It’s a strange feeling when you know you didn’t perform to the level you’re capable of. There’s a mix of emotions that comes with representing your country on the biggest stage, and when you don’t deliver your best, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve let yourself down and the people who support you.

Can’t do anything about it now, learn from the failures, put my head back down and get back to work. That’s all you can do.

I am my own biggest critic, I’ll hit a PB and still think I can do better. That’s just how I’m wired.
