On National Animal Rights Day,
I want to be the voice of the newborn male chicks
— the ones who, right after hatching, are either thrown into grinding machines alive
or buried alive because they’re deemed useless.

I want to speak for the hens
— who spend a year trapped in cages
until the day they stop laying eggs and are left to die.
Hens who become paralyzed in those cages,
suffering physical injuries, losing their legs.

I want to be the voice of the animals.
Not just cats and dogs—
but also chickens and roosters,
lambs and sheep.

Their pain matters too. by @rahgoosar
