On this world bipolar day I am reminded that yes it sucks, bipolar disorder can make life seem uninhabitable, it is a chronic illness that will have its clutch on the sufferer for life, but, a good life is possible. With medication, lifestyle modifications, time and a little luck it is possible to lead a full and sparkling life. I thank the gods of pharmacology and the miraculous people who have made our lives the radiant place they are. #world bipolar day by @rahla.x

Sparkling, radiant holders of my ♥️. Without you the world would be a dull shade of taupe. I’m thrilled to be returning to @broughtonsanctuary to bring you another wonderful retreat experience with my good friends @gelongthubten and @rahla.x

The retreat is running from 19th - 24th February and if you head to the link in my bio you can find out a little more about the retreat and also secure your place.

In the meantime, this video should give you a little taste of what sessions and workshops the three of us will be delivering at the retreat. As well as these, Broughton also has a host of fabulous facilities that will be available to use, and it’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever been to.

My 6th birthday on my 6th thanksgiving in NY, home of the brave & beautiful. I find myself grateful to the changing of the leaves with their garish & joyous colors. Grateful to the busker in grand central as, guitar in hand, he sings in a raspy voice, “what a wonderful world.” I’m grateful to my students for their talent & kindness, to my friends for carrying me through both the good & the bad of this life with loyalty & laughter. To my ludicrous dog for her inspiring & unbridled sense of fun. To my children for their sense of creativity, compassion & humor. I’m grateful to my husband for his ardent sense of truth & the true north of his moral compass. Also, I’m grateful that he has made me laugh for 30-something years & also, I’m grateful to him for taking the above photo. I’m grateful that I get to look out over the Hudson at the skyline of NYC, in all its shabby & glittering glory. I’m grateful that we saw Romeo & Juliet on broadway & that my birthday falls once more, on thanksgiving & I, have so much to be grateful for, because, after all, what are we without gratitude?
