If you asked me to describe in one word the feeling I have working with this phenomenal cast who have put their entire heart, soul and foot into bringing this work to life it would be JOY!! I cannot thank them enough and I cannot wait to share this work.

✨ Yvonne Montoya — Unspoken explores silent stories, unspoken stories, and stories whose time has not yet come. An excerpt from Stories from Home, the work is a physical embodiment of the oral traditions of Northern New Mexico. Montoya has toured Stories from Home nationally, from Washington, D.C. to New Mexico, Texas, California and Arizona.

✨Leonardo Caudillo & Rayshawn Watkins — This work offers a glimpse into the lives of LGBTQIA+ people and how societal norms can affect relationships. A rollercoaster of emotions, the piece invites audiences to make their own assumptions about the story unfolding. Caudillo and Watkins are two of the three leaders behind Phoenix’s Invictus Dance Project.

✨Alicia Nascimento-Castro — ANCESTRAL uses a multicultural lens to examine race, geography and the corporeality of spiritual practice, approaching movement through Afrofuturism as a pathway to liberation. Through Santuário (Shrine) and Poeira Estelar (Stardust), the work moves through ancestral presence, spiritual protection, time travel and cosmic connection. Nascimento-Castro is a phenomenal performing artist and educator who has danced with Philadanco’s D/2 and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance and has taught in Brazil.

✨ Carla Leon & David Olarte — Drawing from years of footwork, partnering, salsa, couple dancing and improvisation, Carla and David create an embodied conversation reflecting on connection, identity, repres taken in Phoenix Center For The Arts by @rahmvmnt

Caught myself reminiscing about this journey in choreography I’ve been on and just how eternally grateful I am to be doing what I love.

Each and every body that has molded its way through space in the works I’ve created will forever have a special place in my heart. I can’t begin to tell you just how excited I am to keep creating and sharing dance. Stay tuned, there is definitely more to come ✨

Taught an easy little floorwork combo I thought was fun yesterday.

I’ve been setting work now for a while but now to be back in class for myself as well as teaching,…what did Celine say?… it’s all coming back to me now🥹. Feels so good to be back in my happy place. .

Still taking in this past week of dance, art, friends old and new and everything in between at @acda_dance hosted at the incredible @unlvdance

And what an absolute honor it was to have work presented this past week and be there with @scottsdaleccdance over all just an incredible time. 4 days of dance in every way will be hard to come down from but until then I’m still taking it in 🫶🏾
