If you’d asked me a year ago whether I wanted to be in a long-distance relationship, I would’ve laughed in your face.

In walks Jenny, demanding surf lessons. Wetsuits bought, boards organized, beach day settled. I don’t even think she got within ten feet of the water, and somehow I ended up with a girlfriend instead 😂

We spent a couple of months together. She went home, came back, and we got a few more months together before she returned to Finland. When we booked her next trip, I was at the airport flowers in hand, looking up every time the doors opened. But alas no Jenny guessing immigration did not like her.

It’s been almost nine months since we’ve seen each other, and most nights we’re talking through a screen. Some days are harder than others, but we laugh a lot, we trust each other, and we keep making it work.
