🇦🇹 Goodbye to an Austrian legend: ÖBB has retired its last class 4020 EMU ⬇️ EDIT: Some units are still in reserve duty The class was conceived for Vienna’s S-Bahn system in the 1970s, eventually growing to 120 units Its distinctive design, created by industrial designer Johann Benda, earned them the nickname ‘television’ (Fernseher) because of the large front window 📺 These units could mostly be seen around Vienna, but were used in Western Austria as well ⛰️ With the arrival of newer rolling stock, such as the Desiro ML and KISS units, the final hour has now come for these legendary sets 😔 Are you sad to see these units go? 💬 #railcolor #öbb #reihe4020 #sbahnwien #eisenbahner by @railcolor
