1/4 done already!

What a year! Genuinely one of the greatest times but also some of the most difficult experiences with so much growth. I feel like often all we share are the highlights but there is so much more to college and life that isn’t seen and I wanted to share! I never write long captions so feel free to skip but here’s a little more of my freshman year.

Coming into college I heard a lot of my friends say how the first semester especially is really hard, yet I thought somehow I wouldn’t share this experience. It looks like it should all be so fun with how many pictures people post and you think that everyone has it figured out but you, but that’s just not true. No one has it figured out! It’s hard to be homesick, not just for family and home but normalcy and lifelong friendships. First semester was one of the hardest semesters of my life where my mental health struggled and I felt so alone. I thought I was the only one struggling with those feelings. Coming off of one of the best years of my life I felt so defeated to be back to anxiety and depression, thinking I would not be able to experience so much joy again!

But the Lord is SO GOOD! Baylor has truly grown me in my faith so so much! Sharing this has felt hard because I am not perfect and don’t have it all figured out but I’ve been reminded how there really is no right way and we are all on our own journeys.

My freshman year God showed me many setbacks and hardships that tested my strength but also grew me as a person! I learned what to prioritize my energy towards and how to protect my heart! Yet I also learned how to forgive others and especially myself and to continue to love deeply regardless! And through these experiences I’ve already begun building such deep, genuine friendships that truly OVERFLOW my cup. I feared I had peaked and already experienced the best moments of my life but that’s so not true! This year in general has been filled with so many fun, exciting, and new things!

SO, to conclude the longest caption ever, yes freshman was hard in many ways, but truly so so good! If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t change a bit. CANT WAIT TO BE BACK NEXT SEM😝😉😊 taken in Baylor University by @railzeanderson
