𑣲⋆18th birthday!˙⋆✮⋆˚࿔

i am so overjoyed with all the birthday wishes and love, and to be so supported by my family, especially my parents and sister bella who have helped me this past week. To be perfectly clear, i did not expect to make it to 18. I was even having mental health issues the day before my birthday, and wondered if I would be able to make it to my birthday. But I did, and I'm so proud of myself for making it this far. I'm so glad I got to enjoy a beautiful day with my family and the people I love! I'm so proud I have come so far to see myself grow from little Raine to making paintings for myself and sharing them with others. I can't wait to continue to share my light with others! Thank you again for the birthday wishes💗

Happy Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacifc Islander month! I am so honored to be Filipino, and to represent my culture in school.

I was awarded the New England Filipino American Inc. scholarship, alongside the amazing @nightshadezspamm and met the first Asian Pacific Islander judge in the Connecticut Superior Court.

I was also able to create art from Angono, where my mother and family is from.
This month has given me the opportunity to connect with my culture as an artist, as when I first visited, I discovered Angono is the Art Capital of the Philippines. Knowing my identity as an artist lies deeply within my culture makes me proud that I am from the art capital of PH.

In times where people are being called "illegal aliens" I am saddened and disappointed that these people who raised me are seen as "aliens." I was raised by immigrants. My immigrant family taught me love, strength, courage, and compassion that has helped me in life, and lead my morals to become the social worker in my future. I have featured my beautiful mother, the immigrants, and my Filipino family helped me become the person I am today. The next time you see someone's culture and feel confused, and feel hatred or ignorance rise, immigrants are people. Not "aliens," but people who have taught me love and are full of love. Like every human being, they are people who are worthy and belong here like you as well. They are human, just like you.

I love my family, and any ounce of ignorance will ever be able to blind me away from embracing who I am.

one last time! 💛💙

my last ledyard high school band concert was this past month! 🥹i am so grateful to have been apart of band, as music has been embedded into every aspect of my life, even when i was little playing tambourine with my dad lol! I cannot thank Mr. Thomas, my parents, family, and friends enough for supporting me! Band has truly given me so many opportunities and new perspectives on life I can't wait to carry into college 💙

CAS Awards - Performing Arts

I had the honor of being awarded as the performing artist this year for LHS. I am so thankful to my teachers, parents, and all the artists who have inspired my artistic journey. I felt discouraged this year, as I took on a smaller role for the musical to focus on my mental health. But, I have realized that in every aspect I still remain an artist. Morally, musically, visually, and performing- I still call myself an artist. From being a child watching my favorite artist perform, or seeing art now that makes me want to create art, I may now become that person for others! I am so incredibly excited to take on my social work career in college, but to continue to explore who I am as an artist. :) Thank you so much 💟 by @rainespaghettiii
