At least we’re all together
One soul
Connected by the strings☀️

It’s been almost two years since Hurricane Helene devastated WNC. Almost two years since I sat in my new york city apartment staring at pictures of my home town covered in muddy waters. Waiting for a call, a text, anything from my family letting me know they’re alright. Two years since neighbors who never spoke became each others lifelines.
Here we are. Almost two years and many many stories later, with an attempt to retell. An attempt to reflect. An attempt to understand “how to be human together living in a world that’s beautifully on fire”.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who made this project possible at every step of the way. Thank you Thank you Thank you

Last week we had the honor of sponsoring Raining on Sunny Street, a play about Hurricane Helene, written and directed by Sofia Costanzo.

The play was a meaningful reflection on how resilience is found not only in what we endure, but in how we come together. On opening night, storms rolled in (right on cue) as the play began. Right at the end, the sun started beaming through which felt like a fitting and poignant parallel to the story.

It truly was a beautiful experience. Thank you to the artists, organizers, and community members who helped bring this meaningful story to life. We’re so grateful to be part of this community by @rainingonsunnyst

the most fulfilling experience to play Ana in @rainingonsunnyst in Asheville, NC these past couple weeks. i’m so honored to have aided others in their healing process regarding Hurricane Helene and it was a life changing experience for me as well.

thank you to this talented cast, the 300+ people who came to the show, and everyone who was a part of it including my best friend who became my director (!!???) i’m so proud!!-thanks for trusting me with your baby.

“At least we’re all together…”

We made art in deep service to the community and the lands we love.

We created a space…
For humans to be human.
For grief to take up space.
For stories to matter.
For beliefs to be challenged.
For forgiveness to be possible.
For difference to be what brings us together.
For love to change us.
For a community to come together.

World premiere of @rainingonsunnyst in Asheville, NC written and directed by @sofifi_1, stage manager @oliver_is_really_handsome, assistant director and acting coach @dougwertstuff - with actors (on IG) @natalie.edgens @notwrencash @alexar1a, Jason Brodsky, Jane Hallstrom and me. Live music and sound with @hufflepuffmd and @jdill82.

I’m changed for the better for being a part of this family. @sofifi_1 - I can’t wait to see what you do next!! by @rainingonsunnyst

““Raining on Sunny Street” is more than a play about Hurricane Helene. Ultimately, it’s about the connections that can emerge when people who might otherwise have little to do with one another suddenly discover how much they need each other.”
“Wren Cash as Jayden and Natalie Edgens as Hazel work well together, as do Jessica Durivage as Kelly and Alexaria Chavarria as Ana. Each contributes to the sense that we’re watching an actual Western North Carolina neighborhood rather than merely a group of actors on a stage.”
