Hi ⚡️

Once upon a time…….
a summer night in 1991, we instantly locked eyes, it was love at first sight. It was the sweetest moment of my life. 🤍The rest is history.
(32 years together, this July.)

The first two slides are iconic photos in our minds, we were a few months in, dating and relishing in every moment we had together. I was 16 and he was 17 ⚡️ photos taken on Hollywood Blvd.

Nothing beats being young, wild and free 🤍⚡️actually, being empty nesters in our late 40’s in the high desert, is pretty rad too! ⚡️

Literally can’t get enough, 44 years and counting of sharing our lives & birthdays together - we met in October of 1982. Little did we know those little girls in their E.T. shirts would become sisters for life.
I can’t imagine my life without you, we’ve shared so much highs and lows, twists and turns but through it all, you’ve been there for me. The one I run to, my refuge, my safe space. Thank you for never saying “no” on anything I ask! We may not see each other as much as we should, but months & days blur and we pick up right where we left off.
Your family is mine and my family is yours!
We raised each others babies together, you’re my son’s Godmother, you’re my Best Friend, my life wife and confidant - you hold my deepest secrets (take that shit to the grave!). 🖤⚡️
I love you, Piggy. Forever n’ ever!
Happy Happy Happy Birthday, My favorite Scorpio!! 💖 by @rainyromero

My Barrientos Family is like no other, I know that other families say that but we actually are different!
Truly beautiful to see my cousins, their kids (my nephews) and their babies (grand nephews) - it’s a bolt of love right through me, it recharges me in ways that only they can. They embraced my Osk from day one, 35 years in and they love him to death as he does them! 🖤
When I see my son and his cousins, keep the family rollin’ - that’s what makes me proud. It’s love & respect, pure and simple.

We celebrated my baby neice Leia’s 6th Birthday a couple of weeks ago, a Michael Jackson themed one - yes, she performed for all of us! Proof that she’s my neice!! It’s in our blood! We are not shy 😂 and down to entertain! She made me cry 😭she was perfect!

To my Cuzzy wuzzies, man do I love you all!!! It’s a beautiful feeling 🖤⚡️ Barrientos Boogie Baby!! - that’s what cuzzy Darlene says, always!

The big surprise was to see my cousin, Nancy come down from the Carolinas! I miss you already Cuzzy!

Never do I laugh, cry and just have a blast with anybody else, the way I/we all do when we’re all together 💖⚡️ by @rainyromero

Simply put, you’re the one!
The one we all love, the one we root for, the one we can depend on, the one that always amazes us, the one with all the answers (because you’re a smarty pants of all smarty pants! 💖) You’re definitely the one daughter I never had. I’m grateful for you in our wolf pack!

I wish you a beautiful 28, May this year bring all that you have worked hard for, enjoy the ride and have so much fun along the way! I truly know that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, your brilliance outshines any other.
Thank you for loving Russ the way you do, I wouldn’t dream of anything more, you both are truly amazing together 🖤⚡️Thank you for everything you do!

Happy Birthday, Kid! Love you so much! by @rainyromero

My ultimate muse, the coolest & bravest woman who didn’t take no for an answer, ever! One who paved the way, opened doors that were sealed shut for women. A woman who put her life on the line, one who exposed truths and rallied hard for change. Assembled and organized foundations to culminate an equal path. We as women are forever in debt to her, teach your daughters & granddaughters about her, Ms. Gloria Steinem

Learning of your passing this morning has had me in a still haze, in disbelief that our world has lost a fighter, a protector, guardian of women’s equality and we’ll never be the same.
As a young girl, in my preteen years, I saw an image that will forever be stamped in my brain. That of Gloria with her fist in the air! She was beautiful and powerful, a leader. I wanted to be HER!!!

My whole life, I dreamt of meeting her one day, I’m sad that’ll never happen. All I knew was that she selflessly chose a life of service for the betterment and equality of women for future generations to come.

Her big break was an article of The Playboy Club (she went undercover as a Bunny) to expose the mistreatment of the girls that worked there. She became a target of hate after that and that is what fueled her for decades by founding the National Women’s Political Caucus to increase the number of women in politics, that stands today!
She then created the first ever feminist magazine, “Ms.Magazine” followed by Woman’s Action Alliance to promote non-sexist and multi racial education for children & Voters for Choice as a Pro Choice political action committee. True accolades of an extraordinary woman.

She will always be an inspiration to me, she taught me to be the girl who will stand up and make my voice loud & clear! One who will go toe to toe with a man and not feel intimidated or belittled.

Gloria, you were the light we all needed. Thank you for creating the change that all of us women enjoy today.
You’re forever the feminist activist baddie in all of Herstory!! Thank you.

If you want to spend some time learning more, watch biopic, The Gloria’s and/or miniseries, Ms. America.
Better yet, mid September her last memoir is set to publish, An Unexpected Life. by @rainyromero

Happy 31 🖤⚡️ make it all count.
Love you, forever and ever.

Hidden gem, unlocked! Welcome to @starletcoffeela
Owned & fully operated by two very smart and motivated college girls, working their operation around their school schedule for now (I mean, wow!) They will have staff to fill in for them soon! Trust me - I parked on the ample shaded street and witnessed folks come and go! It is quickly becoming the neighborhood gem or starlet rather!✨
If you’re near the ‘denas or take a ride, easy fwy access and enjoy some bomb custom coffee & matcha!
I opted for the Banana Pudding Coffee, can’t even handle how delicious it was! They have something for all, quick friendly service by the two gals who have poured their hearts out, making it happen! Kept the suspense on what the adorable interior looks like, you have to see for yourselves!
It truly feels like IYKYK kinda spot and that’s what makes it fun to partake in, support local!

Cheers gals, you’ll be seeing a lot more of me! 💖 by @rainyromero

It’s been a minute…just livin’ with my folks. Thanks for sticking around! by @rainyromero

Being weird together is my favorite, let’s forever be.💖
Highly recommend surrounding yourself with those that bring out your true selves.⚡️ It’s GOLDEN!!

Lil’ backstory on these lovelies, the tiny dancer is one of my sweetest besties. She was introduced to me by my bestest Christy - as a Circa Rentals client. I helped Marshia design her wedding back in 2015 in the West Hills. We spent countless hours together, dreaming up all the details - magazines laid out all over my table with tacos and laughs.
She quickly entered my heart like a lightning bolt and here we are 10 years later as true best friends. As a major bonus, she was a package deal that included her cousin & sister, that I cannot see myself ever not being around them, they got me locked in for life, like Golden Girls status 💛
Love you so much @chicacali @lafunmicci @blkstk & @christy_chris_xty for wrangling us together serendipitously ⚡️ by @rainyromero

It’s ok to fall in love with friends, a love that is genuine.
A love that picks up right where you left it, no beats skipped. That’s a beautiful feeling and I cherish the f’out of it.
Any reason to gather & host, has been my love language lately. Maybe because I’m in love with the space I’m in, the era and season of life, with the most genuine souls around me. Truly is what life is about, I’ve learned to appreciate every era as a new one unravels.
The beauty in the women that surrounded the table, is unmatched, each one is an absolute testament to style, grace, heart, soul, beauty and eloquence. They each hold real estate in my heart.
To also have my lovely cousins included in the mix, was truly the cherry on top! My heart is full.
We gathered to manifest & inspire one another for the New Year, we crafted Vision Boards, with intent and love.
However, it wasn’t just about the amazing art they all created for themselves, it was the tiny moments in between. The deep conversation, about life, love and yes we got a little political. We mostly laughed and talked a whole bunch of shit, wine was had and a littler flower in between made for an epic Sunday afternoon, especially with bomb pizza & homemade treats!
Thank you to my beautiful girls for gracing me with your magnificent presence 🤍 te amo un chingo! 🤍Rain
