Way back when I worked with @nike and the fierce yet ultra-sweet @liannesanderson10 who was a part of the Rock Victorious campaign for Nike along with @mariasharapova and @serenawilliams . She is still living the dream playing soccer for @juventus women 🙌. Unfknbelievable. . . . The experience for me was phenomenal because Lianne and Joanna Lohman were about supporting underprivileged girls in soccer across India and started the JOLI Academy to make the sport more accessible. And the people are amazing. The range of work in a large-scale branding project is what makes it exciting. A logo is only 10% of it. We were taking road trips, flying drones (thanks Aman Gray), doing photoshoots, designing school uniforms, chatting with students and learning so much about why students come to Canada for a great education. . . 🍁 In the end, what people remember is a great story. My client🚀The BBVA with nearly a TRILLION DOLLARS in assets was named the world's best corporate bank. You should see their stunning headquarters in Madrid, Spain, beautiful AF. As luck would have it, they asked for my heIp with design. I met the team and was taken on board to them create a brand identity and logo for the "The Future Of Digital Banking"—Open Platform™ These long posts make it easier than responding to all the nice DMs. Till this day, everything amazes me. For context, the BBVA is the biggest client you can have. Agencies around the world pitch all year for this type of business. Why me then? Because I don't "chase money" or "get clients". I make friends, nurture relationships and share what I learn from my defeats. I also suffer from hyper-gratitude (thanks again Robert Sears), even for the smallest of things. I watched an ant walk around my hand for 3 minutes, lost in observing the miracle of life itself—moments. One blessing is not greater than the next. The beauty of things intangible is not quantifiable. But it is everywhere. The chances we get, the people we meet , I can assure you, no one is lesser or more than anyone else but we surely intersect for reasons that shouldn't go unknown. You can do this. Cliche, but yea, "luck finds you working" yada yada, you gotta take risks and all that good stuff too. . . You have to be tuned in, every minute is an opportunity for something remarkable. It's all in how you manage your thoughts, because, well, they become things. People feel it. Signals are always being sent. Leave your heart open. With extraneous inner-work you can tell your mind what to think and there is nothing more powerful than that. Be kind to yourself. "If I don't feel good, it's because I'm not thinking right". Adjust your sails. In the end, it's the greater power above that has your best interest. Never loose faith, that is a non-negotiable. . . I'm guilty of having lofty goals, but fk, this stuff just keeps on happening . You have to be unshakeable in your positive view of the world, you have to be receptive to the nudges, and trust me, that shit is real. by @rajasandhu

O CANADA 🇨🇦 Brought home the Gold baby! I didn't really win a gold medal ... But, I did get an honorary one from the CCAA—Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association. Crazy. I can't even run around the block without having to keel over. In 2010 I was lucky enough to be asked by this great Collegiate organization to develop their new identity, logo and branding systems. The CCAA is the Canadian equivalent of the NCAA in the U.S. They enrich student lives with opportunity through high-level intercollegiate sport and academia. Given how epic this task was, I knew I'd have to solicit the help of a legend in the world of corporate identity—Bob Wolf. He da' real OG. His work is seen in space (the Lockheed Martin logo is on the space shuttle) and all over the world (The Bank of America logo). I learned a lot from him. So the the idea for this logo came to me while kicking around a soccer ball one fine fall day after the rain. The ball rolled over a wet maple leaf that was on the ground and it stuck to one side. I kept kicking ng it around but it wouldnt come off. Seeing that leaf—which represents all things Canadian—curved around the ball like that was too cool. I knew then that this would be the concept behind the logo. Lesson?
