At the Gram Prahari Felicitation Ceremony in Bareilly, I highlighted the important role Gram Praharis play in strengthening rural policing.

Gram Praharis are a vital link of trust and information between the police and rural communities. In today’s digital environment, the effective use of social media and WhatsApp, alertness to misleading information, and timely reporting of suspicious activity can further strengthen village security.

Uttar Pradesh Police is committed to working in close coordination with Gram Praharis to help prevent crime, enhance public safety and build trust between the police and the community.

The Gram Prahari system is an important link between villages and the police. By sharing timely information about local circumstances and emerging concerns, Gram Praharis can support effective policing at the grassroots.

At the Gram Prahari Sammelan in Bareilly, held in the august presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, I emphasised the importance of regular dialogue between Gram Praharis, police station in-charges and beat personnel. Their concerns must be heard, and the information they share must receive timely, lawful follow-up.

I expect every police officer to treat Gram Praharis as active partners in the police system and sustain communication until the matter is appropriately addressed.

“खेल और पुलिसिंग में बहुत गहरा संबंध है।”

At the appointment-letter distribution ceremony for 470 sportspersons selected under the “Kushal Khiladi” quota at Lok Bhavan Lucknow, I spoke about how the discipline, teamwork, endurance and ability to make quick decisions developed through sports also strengthen policing.

I congratulate all the selected sportspersons as they begin a new journey of service in the Uttar Pradesh Police. May they carry the same commitment and sportsmanship from the field into their duties.

Boat capsized. Courage didn’t.

When a boat carrying around 20–25 people capsized in Galatha, Fatehpur, after its bottom gave way, Aung Police reached the spot swiftly. Showing courage and urgency, police personnel mobilised local villagers and led a joint rescue effort in challenging conditions.

Working together amid the floodwaters, they brought everyone to safety.

Swift response. Courage under pressure. Everyone safe.

3:30 a.m. A fire at home. Three people still inside.

Chowki Avadhpuri police reached Pushpanjali Phase 3 soon after receiving the alert. After an e-scooter battery exploded and set the house on fire, the team opened the door and brought all three people to safety. They then cut off the main power supply and helped put out the fire.

No one was injured. A salute to Sub-Inspector Nagendra Singh and Constables Lalit Kumar and Anant Nagar for acting swiftly when every moment mattered.

Today, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath ji flagged off 87 new traffic interceptor vehicles from Lok Bhavan.

Road safety depends on identifying risks, enforcing traffic rules, improving roads and ensuring timely emergency response.
Under the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s directions, the Zero Fatality District (ZFD) and RTC initiatives, conceived and led by DGP UP Shri Rajeev Krishna, bring these efforts together. Traffic interceptors, ITMS surveillance, trained field teams and coordinated emergency services are strengthening road safety across Uttar Pradesh.

“Partners in Life, Rescuers in Crisis”

A car overturned in the rain on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Passengers were trapped inside. The rescuers had to make a split-second decision: break the window with a rifle.

Passing by, the Kannauj-posted constable couple, Amit Tevatia and Archana, became rescuers in the moment of crisis. Using the rifle of Gunner Head Constable Arvind Singh, who was inside the car, they broke the window and helped all the passengers out.

Everyone sustained minor injuries and was taken to CHC Talgram by Talgram Police.

In a crisis, presence of mind can make all the difference.
