NHM Wildlife Photographer of the year - 59 popularly known as the Oscars of Wildlife Photography! @nhm_wpy

I am so glad to let you all know that my image "Ashes of Wetland" has recieved a highly commended award in Wetlands category!
Of about 50000 entries from 95 countries, I'm honoured my image made it to the final 6 in this category.

Thanks to jury for the selection and I only hope this recognition will bring awareness about this most ignored issue globally and photographs like this are becoming a medium to educate people and young minds.

Also, thanks to my wife @spoorthi.gupta for always being there for me and being supportive in everything I do!

I’m thrilled to share that my photograph ‘Ashes of a Wetland’ was displayed at the @nmacc.india which was one of the winning images at NHM WPY 59. It’s an honor to be among the six Indians whose work is exhibited at such a prestigious venue in India.
In addition to the insightful discussions and engaging conversations with wildlife experts, the highlight of the evening was meeting the Ambanis and personally explaining my image to them. Mr. Mukesh Ambani’s thoughtful gesture of pledging support and raising awareness for the situation at Pallikaranai marshland made the experience even more meaningful. It was truly an unforgettable evening, though I deeply missed having @spoorthi.gupta by my side.

I can’t forget the outstanding hospitality provided by the NMACC team, from the smooth travel and accommodation arrangements to the exclusive dinner and more throughout the event.

And big thanks to @rakesh.pulapa and @bombaymalayali for capturing these moments for me.

Do visit the venue and explore the stunning and impactful images from NHM WPY 59

My NatGeo Moments!
Like many photographers, I too dreamed of having my work featured in @natgeo especially in a timeless hard copy. That dream has come true for me, twice!

Exactly a year ago, I received an email from the NatGeo team about licensing one of my aerial shots for their book “World From Above,” set to release in Fall ‘24. Fast forward 365 days, and today, the book is finally in my hands. What are the odds? Haha. Some things are just meant to align perfectly!

Another proud moment was when @natgeotraveluk Magazine selected one of my images for their Big Picture feature which is a double-page spread that left me speechless.

As someone who’s been capturing the world from above for over a decade, getting recognized for what I love fills my heart with gratitude and joy.

Ganapathi Visarjan 2026. (Shot on Phone)
Came to Mumbai for Visarjan, and what an experience this was! For the first time, I had no other gear with me except my phone, and honestly, that decision was totally worth it. ❤️

Every image here was shot on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra with the teleconverter lens.

Have you witnessed this yet?
Neelakurinji is a purple-blue flower that blooms only once every 12 years in the Western Ghats.
When they bloom, entire hillsides transform into a breathtaking carpet of purple.
