Come spend time with the animals at our shelter and help make their day a little brighter. Many of them are simply waiting for a simple walk, or someone to sit beside them for a while.

You can help by:
• Walking the dogs
• Socialising with the cats and dogs
• Grooming and brushing them
• Helping with washing

Volunteering hours during Ramadan:
Saturday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Even one hour of your time can give them happiness, comfort, and hope.

Come be the reason they wag their tails today.

Meet the longest-stay residents of Rakawc.

These beautiful dogs were once tiny puppies—some just a few days old, others one to two months old. Unfortunately, most of them have never had the chance to experience life beyond the shelter walls. They've grown old here, some even turning grey, and while a few found homes, they were sadly returned through no fault of their own.

It breaks our hearts to see them grow up without knowing the outside world—what it's like to explore beyond the shelter, to feel the warmth of a home, and to enjoy the simple joys of life. That's where you come in.

We ask our supporters: If you're not in a position to adopt, please consider giving these precious dogs a day out. Take them for a walk, let them breathe the fresh air, or perhaps offer them a short-term foster. Show them what it's like to run on the beach, feel the soft grass, and experience the comfort of a bed or sofa. These small moments mean the world to them.

My name is Angel, and I am the result of unethical and backdoor breeding.

I am only a few months old, yet I have already suffered more than any puppy should. I am unable to use my hind legs, and I have a severe skin infection that covers my fragile little body.

I didn’t choose to be born this way. I didn’t choose pain, neglect, or suffering. I am one of many victims of irresponsible breeding, where animals are brought into the world without proper care, health checks, or consideration for their future.

Behind many puppies sold for profit, there are stories like mine, animals who are abandoned when they become sick, disabled, or no longer wanted.

Despite everything I have been through, I still look for love, comfort, and kindness. I hope I can survive, heal, and become better slowly, one day at a time.

Please wait for my updates and follow my journey. I would be so grateful for a little gift, a good wheelchair that fits my tiny size to help me move around and enjoy life while I continue my recovery. Maybe one day, with the right care and a little miracle, I might even walk again. Who knows?

Meet Luci, also known as Lucifer 💔

My name is Luci. I came to RAKAWC when I was only 2 weeks old. I was just a tiny puppy with so much life, love, and energy ahead of me. Today, I am 6 years old...

I spent time in a long-term foster home, where I was finally given the chance to feel what a family was like. Later, I was adopted by the same family… and I thought I had found my forever home.

But life changed, and I came back to the shelter through no fault of my own.

When I was a baby, the team named me Lucifer because I was the naughtiest puppy in the shelter. I was a little tornado, biting, playing, running, and turning every day into a roller coaster of chaos and happiness. I had so much personality, and everyone knew me for my funny, mischievous spirit.

But now, I have changed...alot...

The playful puppy who filled the shelter with energy is slowly fading away. I have become quiet. I sit alone. I have stopped being the Luci everyone knew. It feels like my heart is slowly giving up.

I am not angry. I am not difficult. I am just hurt and confused. I lost the home I thought was mine, and I don’t understand why I am back behind shelter doors.

All I need is someone who will see the loving dog underneath the sadness, someone who will give me the stability, patience, and forever love I have been waiting for.

Please don’t let Luci fade away. Help us find the family who will bring his spark back.

Meet Goldi 🥹

My name is Goldi. I was born in 2021, and I was only one month old when I arrived at the shelter. Like every puppy, I dreamed of having a family, a warm bed, and a place to call home.

Twice, I thought my dream had finally come true.

The first time, I was adopted for a few months. The second time, I was returned after only one week.

I didn't do anything wrong. I loved, I trusted, and I waited. But each time, I found myself back behind the shelter gates, wondering why I wasn't enough.

Maybe it's because I don't look "purebred." Maybe I wasn't what people expected. But my heart is pure, and that's what truly matters.

I am still here, still hoping, still believing that somewhere out there is a family who will love me for who I am and not for what I look like.

My family at RAKAWC has promised me something: the next home will be my forever home, not a temporary one.

Meet Subash, our dedicated Kennel Supervisor and the heart behind many of the dogs in our care.

For more than a decade, Subash has been caring for shelter dogs with patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Through long days, challenging rescues, and countless new arrivals, he has remained a familiar face and a source of comfort for animals who need it most.

Known by many as our "Dog Whisperer," Subash has a special connection with dogs. He understands them, earns their trust, and helps even the most nervous souls feel safe again.

Behind every wagging tail, every successful rehabilitation, and every dog ready for a new home, there are people like Subash working tirelessly behind the scenes.
