Portrait post! Hola hola. I’m Hayley, Founder and Principal Designer here @rakisdesign . Figured it’d be nice to put a face to the company name. Sometimes it takes a minute to get a business off the ground, and five years in (between Covid and millennials’ tricky relationship with the sheer nature of timing in general), it finally feels like it’s happening. We’re growing!

Since bringing a sweet bébé into this crazy world earlier this year, it became apparent that operating as a sole practitioner was not supporting the creativity and workflow I envisioned. Turns out it also wasn’t nearly as much fun. And so we evolved! We’re currently a team of two, hoping to bring on a third member by Q2 of next year. We’ve expanded into residential projects and are even working remotely, which doesn’t come without challenges, but is really fun. Our range of focus between both residential and hospitality design is something I’m proud of, and mixes things up. So, welcome, and stay tuned. Good stuff is coming.

Photo by the marvelous @jennapeffley — I miss you, much fun to be had in the very near future. xx

I cherish so many things within this space but the whale rib is the one that got away. They say nothing haunts us like the vintage we didn’t buy (or in this case keep, for myself). Sigh…

Flock it like it’s hot. When vintage wall coverings work out, there’s nothing better. 📷: @jennapeffley
