In 2021, we experienced the loss of someone very near and dear to us due to complications from COVID-19.

For this reason, it was important for me to get vaccinated including the booster shot not only to protect myself, but also my children, friends, and family.

I'm so thankful that free, safe, and effective vaccines were available to me. (The COVID-19 vaccines are free, even if you don’t have health insurance or aren’t a U.S. citizen.)

I had minor pain at the injection site, but did not experience any other major side effects.

Vaccinated people are better protected against severe illness and unvaccinated adults are 16 times more likely to be hospitalized than the vaccinated.

(ad) My entire family had COVID in April 2021. It was especially important to me to get vaccinated because I lost my husband to complications from it. I encourage you to get this safe, effective, and free vaccine so we can end this pandemic.

Any side effects you may experience will likely be mild, like tiredness or slight nausea. To me, that just meant the vaccine is doing its job and it's worth it if it means we can all get back to normal faster.

I want to see my family and friends again. The pandemic has been isolating and the quicker the vaccine is administered, the sooner we will return to some form of normalcy. 2020 has been tough. Kids having virtual or hybrid learning schedules has been challenging. We all miss “normal.” And that’s understandable.
