Hosted by Villa Heike Berlin, the International Limited-Residency MFA in Photography program at the Hartford Art School / University of Hartford (US) is pleased to present “Long Enough To Tie My Shoe”, an exhibition featuring the work of eleven master students from the class of 2027.

Curated by Robert Lyons @ralfoto, with advice by Michael Vahrenwald @mvahrenwald and Chikara Umihara @chikaraumihara, this exhibition features in-progress work by first-year MFA students in the program:

enjoying scanning from my Arkiv, and finding notes from another era-printing on Kodak Porta ra-4 paper.
the current processes are not as satisfying but they do allow much more control. this notation is from 1994 by @ralfoto

Another Polaroid from 1974, from a series of portraits of 3 sisters .
This was used by a friend,Michael Ondaatje,for the cover of his book "Divisadero". by @ralfoto

the last image from this session in 1970, Malden, Mass
made with Polaroid Type 52 film, of a dear friend. in those years from 1970-1974 i mostly used Polaroid materials.
