The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) has today (September 28) announced the dates for the 37th edition of its premier event. Subject to final ratification by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF), BCIC Rally Barbados 2027 will run from Friday to Sunday, June 4-6, with The Auto & Rally Show and King of the Hill, the final shakedown and seeding event, the previous weekend (May 29/30).
The entry form for BCIC RB27 will go live on the official web site - rallybarbados.net – at noon local time on Monday, October 12, 5.00pm in the UK and Ireland; the on-line entry window will close at the same time on Monday, March 1, 2027.
In the first three years of title sponsorship from BCIC, Rally Barbados has broken records across a raft of optics, including competitor participation - an unprecedented 121 cars started in 2024 - spectator engagement, visitor numbers and media coverage. As the Rally Club looks forward to celebrating its 70th Anniversary in 2027, the momentum is set to continue.
Event Director Neil Barnard said: “The record-breaking growth in entries in recent years doesn't just reflect a boost in overseas interest, but also the evolution of our domestic scene. Island rallying is in astoningishly good health, with entry numbers at record levels throughout our national championships and ever-improving standards of driving and preparation meaning a far higher percentage of starters become finishers."
Rally Barbados has its roots in the International All-Stage Rally of 1990 and has grown steadily into the Caribbean’s biggest annual motor sport International. Now a key pillar of ‘Motorsport Island’s sports-tourism calendar, it has regularly contributed more than Bds $4 million to the economy, much of it in valuable foreign exchange, and accounts for approaching 5,000 visitor nights at a traditionally quiet time of the year for tourism.

After his first drive in BCIC Rally Barbados last year, Ireland’s Declan Gallagher said: “It's a class experience - the fans here have motorsport in their blood.”

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Double-Header Summer Sprint on Sunday (August 23) looks set to play a crucial role in the outcome of the 2026 Driver’s & Class Championships. As the season draws to a close, with November’s Winter Rally the ninth and final round and a number of class-leaders missing from the very healthy 49-car entry, the current standings are in for a shake-up after Sunday's two points-scoring opportunities.
Round seven will comprise four timed runs on a 5.0-kilometre course from Kendal in St John to Ellesmere in St George, with four runs in the reverse direction for round eight. The fastest run in each direction counts towards a driver’s championship tally, with a class win worth 15 points. Both directions are also rounds of the 2026 Motoring Club Barbados Inc (MCBI) Championship.

Last night at the Official Prizegiving for BCIC Rally Barbados 2026, Milwaukee Tools once again sponsored our Spirit of the Rally Award. The Spirit of the Rally Award was introduced in 2022 to recognise someone who embodies the essence of BCIC Rally Barbados, the camaraderie, the friendship, the whole spirit of the event. It could be a volunteer, competitor or a even spectator. This year we had two winners - the young team of Daniel Ullyett and Hailey Brathwaite and UK driver and long-time supporter of local motorsport Rob Swann. Both recipients exemplify the strong bond between family and rallying and the incredible spirit of competition and the people that make it all so worthwhile.
