It’s crazy how motherhood hurts so much sometimes even though all you’re ruminating on is just how strong and beautiful your baby is. Rocky just turned 4, he has a speech disorder called Apraxia, so he has trouble connecting with the muscles in his mouth to make the right sounds, but he’s so intelligent and creative and most of all kind and sweet natured, and cool as f*** and a fashion icon. Sometimes I just can’t wait for the daycare day to come so I can finally take care of me, and then it does and I just hard cry about how much more I wish I could give them and be more for them. Only 1 more hour of daycare day so I better mop. by @ramakawa

Last summer I birthed another baby boy, steps away from the emergency entrance of the hospital to a bunch of unassuming EMTs and my midwife who came running, who on my later check up said the birth was “crazy beautiful!” Coosa was born in the sac in tact with his eyes open and I watched his marbled bubble pop out in between my legs on to a gurney. It was pretty crazy beautiful amazing and I only have memories of it feeling good which is crazy. I’m so glad my sister @ashleydaysc was with me during the literal torture of labor in my living room, while my toddler was completely chilling and watching Scooby Doo and I screamed in tongues crawling on the floor. That is motherhood. They’ll never know it until later when they’re too busy doing it themselves but that’s ok. It was crazy beautiful. taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @ramakawa
