Building the kind of bike adventures I always wished existed.

Good trails.
Great people.
Dialed bikes.
Cold drinks.
Fresh cookies.
No ego.

Just an insanely fun day outside in Vermont.

This weeks Basecamp ride with the @julboeyewearna crew was a reminder that the right setup can completely change how people experience riding.

And honestly?
The e-bikes make everything more fun āš”ļø

This business wasn’t built in an office.
It was built on backroads, in bike shops, at treat stops ~ and in the quiet miles where ideas start to feel real.

Small Business Saturday is about all of us. The coffee shop that fuels the ride, the bike shop that keeps us rolling, the inn that welcomes travelers, and the makers and doers who make Vermont, Vermont.

I love bikes, I love small businesses, and I love this state.

Here’s to building something meaningful… one ride, one story, one rider at a time.

Lake Champlain’s water level is sitting low & Law Island is just a short ride off the Island Line Trail šŸš²šŸ

We spent the day with @ramblexroam seeing our region from a two wheel perspective. Biking to an island was a first for us!

šŸ The lake holds onto its warmth, so the leaves by the water change later than the rest of the state. Still plenty of leaf peeping to be done along the shore.

Once the water comes back up, it’s boats only again šŸ‘€

If you know, you know. šŸŖ

There’s nothing cookie-cutter about a Ramble & Roam adventure. Well, except maybe the cookies. And even those aren’t cookie-cutter.

One of the little things that makes our tours so special happens long before anyone gets on a bike. My wife @elisetherese is often up late or baking early, making sure every rider has something fresh, homemade, and ridiculously delicious to enjoy along the way.

She’s also one of my biggest supporters behind the scenes, helping make Ramble & Roam what it is in more ways than I can count.

And when she’s not baking for our riders, she’s stocking her little roadside bake stand, @another_roadside_bakery , which has developed a bit of a cult following around here. It’s truly a labor of love.

These are the personal touches that make our tours different. And judging by how often her baking gets mentioned in our reviews, I’m starting to think people come for the cookies and just tolerate the cycling.

A little love for Elise, the secret ingredient behind Ramble & Roam. ā¤ļø

If you’ve sampled the goods, what’s your favorite? And go give her little bakery a follow! taken in Vermont by @ramblexroam

There’s a pretty incredible moment in Vermont when fall and winter collide. šŸā„ļø

It’s called snowliage. When fresh snow falls on a landscape that’s still holding onto its fall colors.

As we wrap up another season of cycling through Vermont, it’s one of those reminders of just how quickly things change around here.

With snow in the forecast for the higher elevations this weekend, we might be getting our first taste of it.

This photo is from a previous fall, but it’s a pretty good example of just how spectacular snowliage can be.

A month of riding through Vermont’s fall colors teaches you a thing or two. šŸ

From the Northeast Kingdom to the Champlain Valley, I’ve spent the last several weeks guiding rides, chasing colors, and experiencing some pretty incredible moments along the way.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned… it’s that the best foliage isn’t always where, or when, you’d expect it.

Here are five of my favorite observations from another beautiful Vermont fall.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about foliage season? I’d love to hear it.

A week spent exploring Vermont’s backroads, riding through peak foliage, discovering quiet corners of the state, and making memories along the way. šŸ

Seven days. Five days of riding. Countless miles of dirt roads, mountain views, small towns, and everything in between.

We had sunshine, we had rain, and somehow the wettest, muddiest day turned out to be everyone’s favorite.

That’s the beauty of an adventure like this. It’s not always about perfect conditions or the destination. Sometimes it’s the unexpected moments, the people you’re sharing them with, and everything that happens along the way.

A private, custom-built Vermont cycling adventure, designed around the people riding it.

Happy National Vermont Day! We’re pretty lucky to call this place home.

And a huge shoutout to my good friend and photographer @danieljcardon, who helped bring this adventure to life and captured these incredible moments along the way. šŸ“ø

Winding gravel roads, peak Vermont foliage, incredible meals, beautiful places to stay, and plenty of unforgettable moments along the way.

Five friends, six days, and a Vermont adventure built around so much more than riding bikes.

It’s weeks like these that remind us why we do what we do. taken in Vermont by @ramblexroam

This is peak Vermont. šŸ

And this is exactly why I started Ramble & Roam.

I’m currently in the middle of a fully custom, week-long ride across Vermont with a mix of gravel bikes and e-bikes. Linking together tiny dirt roads, favorite local stops, incredible places to stay, and some of the best riding I know.

There’s no stock itinerary here. No route I’ve run 30 times this season. No big-tour-operator version of Vermont.

Every trip starts with the people coming on it, how they want to ride, and what kind of week they want to have. Then we build from there.

Sometimes that means a beautiful inn. Sometimes it’s a farmhouse and a private chef. A sauna after a long day. Fresh baked goods waiting in the morning. A last-minute bike repair in the middle of nowhere. Whatever it takes to keep the trip rolling.

And the riding?

These are the roads I’ve spent years riding, exploring and connecting the kind of places I want to take my friends when I want to show them just how good Vermont can be.

Right now, they happen to look like this.

If a fully custom Vermont bike trip has been kicking around in the back of your mind, let’s start cooking up something for 2027.

Everyone asks when peak foliage is, but the truth is there isn’t one ā€œpeakā€ across Vermont.

Fall moves. The higher elevations go first, the foothills follow, and down in the Champlain Valley the color can hang on well into October. You just have to know where to look and where to ride.

Some of my favorite days come later in the month. Cooler air, quieter roads, leaves covering the dirt, stops at orchards, something good to eat halfway through, and fewer people around.

That’s pretty much what we’re after at Ramble & Roam. Small groups, private rides, and routes built around the people we’re riding with and what Vermont is giving us that day. No need to stick to the obvious roads when there are so many good ones hiding just around the corner.

We’re booked through the middle of October, with some room in the second half of the month before we wrap up for the season.

Fall officially started yesterday. That means some of the best riding of the year is just getting started. šŸ‚šŸš² taken in Vermont by @ramblexroam

The Burlington Bike Path and Colchester Causeway take you straight out into Lake Champlain. With the Adirondacks on one side, Vermont’s Green Mountains on the other, and miles of water in between.

And the Causeway is only the beginning.

Hop the seasonal bike ferry and keep riding into the Champlain Islands, where quiet roads, orchards, lake views, and a maple creemee at @allenholmfarm make for a pretty ridiculous day on two wheels.
