That’s a wrap on LFR ‘26 for us @creekwater_music boys! It is always a privilege to get to be a part of what @lakeforestranch1950 is doing. Truly one of my favorite parts of the year, and I hate that it’s over already. Many new friendships were made and great times of worship were had, along with a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who made these camps so special and a huge shoutout to my CreekWater brothers for doing such a great job over the past few weeks!! There’s no one I would rather do this with. Thank you, Lord for such an amazing camp season!

2025 was a banger! Said hello to so many new adventures and said goodbye to many of my favorites. Heard a friend play this excerpt from “Braveheart” last night at the excellent Guitar Ensemble concert, and just had to use it while experimenting with some lead tones today!

I just had to thought dump after the events of this afternoon. Couldn’t shake the feeling that I should share it. Praying for Charlie, the shooter, and the families of both. We desperately need Jesus.

How many times do we watch the same news
Another day
Another life
Another sick and twisted try
To make a point
To crush all the other views

How many times do we hear the same broadcast
Another post with a somber tune
What will it take for us to listen
Lay down the hate and get perspective
Try to talk it out
Instead of violence and abuse

Another shot fired in a hallway
Another campus in disarray
And yet we’re looking in all the wrong places
We blame an object for human disgraces
Pride cometh before the fall
And this pride might be the death of us all
We shift the blame
However we can
To keep the mirrors off ourselves
We hide the truth the we’re afraid to tell

We need Jesus

Trapped in a land of pointing fingers
Of protest signs and angry views
And when we’re faced with opposition
We ball our fists
And abandon truth
We’re so afraid of injured feelings
We’d rather lie and save our face
But if we keep the tensions growing
We just might damn the human race

We put our hope in politicians
And elected people to pull us through
We blind ourselves with partisan hatred
And we forget that they’re human too
The real war is waged inside
In each brother and sisters cry
And we use violence to try and hide
What we know
