This drably named "Government Museum" in Ajmer is actually the Akbari fort built by, you guessed it, Akbar.

With his deep veneration of the Garib Nawaz, Akbar had this fort built in the city he would regularly visit.

Inside is a museum containing displays of various time periods of Indian history.

While it takes a while to realize that this is actually a Mughal monument, credit to the government for the immaculate maintenance.

Another "only in Dilli" moment. I randomly stumbled onto a 791-year old living culture as the dargah of Hazrat Mai Saheba -- mother of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya -- held it's 791st annual Urs.
Bonus: You can easily find space to take in the Qawwali here unlike the more crowded dargah in nizamuddin. The weekly Qawwali here happens every Wednesday.
