“The Places Between” | Diptych
Acrylic painting and oil pastel on canvas, collage

Somewhere between darkness and light, between what we know and what we have yet to discover, there are places that belong to neither.

This diptych explores those in-between moments, the quiet spaces of uncertainty, transformation, and becoming.
Amidst the shadows, fragments of light emerge like distant memories, turning points, or glimpses of hope.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful part of the journey is not where we begin or where we arrive, but everything we discover in between. by @ranahslim

“Identity in Motion”
Acrylic painting and oil pastel on canvas, collage

We are never quite who we were, nor entirely who we are becoming.

Identity in Motion is not a portrait of a person, but a map of becoming, shaped by moments, choices, detours, encounters and everything that leaves a mark along the way.

Darkness holds what we have lived through.
Light finds its way through.
Golden forms appear like moments of change, a decision, a loss, a discovery, a turning point. Some lead us forward; others make us pause, turn, or begin again.

Layers build upon layers, much like we do. Nothing is erased completely. Every experience becomes part of the texture of who we are.
And perhaps, when you look at this painting, you won’t see someone else’s story at all.

You might see a fragment of your own.

A moment you remember.
A path you took.
A version of yourself you left behind.
Or a place you are still becoming.

Read it as you wish.
Find your own map within it. by @ranahslim

“The Ones We Become”
Acrylic painting and oil pastel on canvas, collage

✨SOLD✨

There are moments when the world feels made of shadows, fragmented, crowded, and difficult to read.
Yet, somewhere between the cracks, light appears. Quietly. Unexpectedly.
Moments of awareness; memories, dreams, or signs reminding us that there is always something beyond what we can see.

We move through life surrounded by shadows; people, memories, fears, experiences, versions of ourselves we have carried along the way.
Some remain almost invisible, fragmented into the landscape of who we are.
And yet, somewhere above it all, another version of us begins to emerge: quieter, more conscious, more human. Larger and smaller, past and present, the figures seem to echo one another.

Because becoming ourselves is not about leaving our former selves behind. It is about learning to see them, understand them, and carry them differently.
This is not a painting about becoming someone new. It is a painting about the courage to carry everyone you have already been. by @ranahslim

August 4.
The horror.
The fear.
The pain.
The silence that followed.
A city shattered. Lives changed forever.

From the rubble came grief, anger, resilience… and, for me, art.
After that terrible, indescribable moment, I began to paint.
Not to forget.
But to express what words could not hold.
To transform pain into color, fragments into meaning, and memories into something that could live beyond the devastation.

Six years later, the wounds remain.
The questions remain.
And justice is still absent.
We remember those we lost.
We stand with those who continue to carry the consequences.
And we refuse to let August 4 become only a date.

From the rubble, we created.
From the pain, we expressed.
But remembrance is not enough.
Six years later, we still demand justice. 🕊️ by @ranahslim

Family is where love first takes root.

“The Three who remembered the Light”

Acrylic painting on canvas

They stood among the crowd like others; blurred, faceless, unfinished.
But three figures carried something different.
Light.
Not loud enough to dominate the room, yet impossible to ignore.

No one knew if they were protectors, witnesses, or simply souls who had survived something the others hadn’t.
They did not stand together by accident.

One carried memory.
One carried silence.
One carried hope. by @ranahslim

“Among Them, Outshine the Ordinary”

Acrylic painting on canvas

Two couples emerge from a sea of uniform faces, quietly defying the pull of conformity.
While the crowd blends into muted sameness, these pairs hold a distinct presence, embodying unity, shared courage, and clarity of purpose.
The painting speaks to the power of embracing one’s uniqueness, not as an act of rebellion, but as a source of light that can guide and inspire others.
It serves as a reminder that true leadership begins with the willingness to stand apart and shine, even when surrounded by those who choose not to. by @ranahslim

"Chaos and Order"

Acrylic painting on canvas

This acrylic painting captures a vibrant inner world contained by a defined boundary. Flowing, ribbon-like strokes of color intertwine and rise, suggesting movement, emotion, and energy in constant motion.
The speckled outer ring acts as both a frame and a threshold, holding the intensity inside while hinting at the connection between chaos and order. Together, the piece reflects the rhythm of inner life: contained, dynamic, and alive with color. by @ranahslim
