Today i picked up a memorial ring i had made from my Mom’s gold - Gold in Indian culture is special and traditionally it passes to the women in the family - My mom wasn’t traditional and she passed a portion to me - the design is based on a Mughal Ring ( in carousel) and features a 32 carat natural ruby - diamonds and 18 carat gold - Moms gold was 22 carat but that’s too flexible for a ring - i share Moms love of jewelry i think it’s innate in the Indian dna to love gold - i used to love watching historical Bollywood movies with mom the drama of the outfits and jewelry - whilst not historical i added a movie mom and i often watched when i was very young - i think the story really affected both of us in different ways at that time in our journey 👳🏾‍♂️💙 taken in Patiala- The beautiful city by @ranareeves

Thank you @destinationtomorrow452 for issuing the first direct grant to Gorgeous Alliances - @jackmizrahi , myself and our forever sister @mothagucci Devin set up this 501c3 to create real non performative change - we have been working through partners to make sure that resources continue to reach the communities we are part of in meaningful and measurable ways this is the first direct grant - DT is the blueprint for me of community based organizations that are from community by community for community and i continue to be in respect and humility at what the org achieves - #thebluepirint - now to work! by @ranareeves

Yesterday, I had the honor of being featured in 10 Magazine USA alongside individuals whose contributions have helped shape fashion and ballroom.

During the interview, I was asked what fashion means to me. My answer was simple:

“I use fashion as my visual testimony.”

The more I think about it, the more I realize that’s the most honest way to describe my relationship with fashion. To me, it’s a language—one that communicates creativity, identity, resilience, culture, and perspective before a single word is ever spoken.

This weekend also marked my debut walking OTA Labels, and sharing that floor with those who helped shape the category was an honor I’ll always appreciate.

Fashion can be a subjective langauge but when it is at its premier level it is undeniable - to be at premier level i also believe it is best worn by elite talent @realestlola is elite - she is elite in any room and breathes life into creativity - it is innate to her it can’t be bought.

I have waited 4 years to collaborate with @jussskelly on a fashion category - Kelly is a unique force - founder of the house i am a member of - she holds the panache, wit and grit that for me makes ballroom so special - fashion says protect the dolls but it does not always cater to the dolls - the house of @legendarygorgeousgucci is immensely grateful to our house fellow @leoprothmann and our sister @_maxina._ for creating this custome @ladygaga inspired outfit referencing the telephone video, VMA meat dress and Fame era eyewear - full credits will come but i couldn’t wait to post this as it’s a dream come true. Massive thank you to @taylor_spong who took Leo’s vision and fit to Kelly like a glove
