The exhibition begins with AHL Foundation’s Murals on Display Program, supported by 115 Belmont LLC. Installed on the exterior wall of the building, Ran Hwang’s White Wind is the first work visitors encounter before entering the gallery. Its repeated individual elements accumulate to create a visual rhythm and flow. Beginning outside the gallery, the exhibition continues inward to the AKAA Collection and Archive, expanding the viewer’s attention from a work that engages with the contemporary urban environment to works and records that have been created, moved, collected, and preserved over extended periods of time.

어제 조수미 데뷔 40주년 기념 전시의 특별 프로그램인 아티스트 토크에 귀한 시간을 내어 참석해 주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다.

제 작업을 공유하고 다양한 생각을 나눌 수 있어 저에게도 매우 뜻깊고 기쁜 시간이었습니다.

This exhibition showcases the artistic languages that three artists Hwang Ran, Ahn Sungmin, and Kim Hee jung have developed while crossing and navigating boundaries in their own respective ways.

갤러리나우의《THE DOTS》전은 각자의 자리에서 외부의 흐 름이나 유행에 기대지 않고 독립적인 작품세계를 구축해 온 작가들을 조명하기 위해 기획한 프로젝트입니다.

이번전시《2026 THE DOTS IV》는 작업에 사용된 각기 다른 매체, 즉 각기 다른 질료와 표현방식으로 제작된 작가들의 작업을 살펴보는 전시입니다.
서로 다른 작업들이 마주하며 만들어 내는 보이지 않는 틈과 연결, 그리고 그 안에서 발생하는 새로운 감각을 주목해 보는 전시로,

New York, NY – Leila Heller Gallery is delighted to announce the solo exhibition Ran Hwang: Noble Blossoms, opening on 20 April 2026.

Ran Hwang’s multimedia practice explores the ephemeral beauty of nature. The large-scale sculptures in Noble Blossoms balance a meticulous attention to detail and invite the viewer to look closer. The buttons, beads, and crystals in each work shimmer with light and movement, transforming the space they occupy throughout the day. Falling petals, birds in flight and cherry blossoms assemble to construct an image of change and resilience. Each element is carefully placed, like a petal within a larger composition shaped by repetition and focus, echoing the discipline and mindfulness of Zen Buddhism. by @ranhwangstudio

Ran Hwang: Noble Blossoms opens next week, April 20, at Leila Heller Gallery New York. This exhibition brings together a collection of Ran Hwang’s @ranhwangstudio works across almost two decades of her practice, including a selection of new works recently exhibited at the Korea Society @thekoreasociety in New York.

Using unconventional materials such as buttons, threads, and thousands of meticulously hammered pins, Hwang creates visually captivating installations that evoke the cyclical themes of life, death, and rebirth. The repetitive and labor-intensive act of hammering pins by hand is not only a creative process but also a meditative one. It serves as a metaphor for the passage of time, allowing Hwang to visualize cosmological cycles, where each step of creation and rebirth through the process of conception, installation, and de-installation, mirrors the impermanence of the natural world.
