On May 19th 2025, I lost my world. I lost my protector, my best friend, my hero, and the best dad that anyone could ever have. It still feels unreal that you’re gone. We were just texting each other the other night about Jamal winning American Idol and talking about going to see final destination this weekend. It’s crazy how life changes in an instant.

This pain is nothing I’ve ever felt; I lost half of my heart. I wish every minute of the day that this was a dream and that I could take your place in heaven. I would give anything to have you back here with us. I desperately wish you were here to watch me graduate college, get married, and have kids, but I promise I will make you proud every day of my life until I take my last breath.

If you know my dad he was everything and more. He was the most hilarious person, always making jokes and making everyone laugh. He stayed positive and had a way of bringing light into any situation. He loved deeply and intentionally. He was also the BIGGEST Chargers fan in this world. There’s not one person that didn’t love my dad, he was truly the definition of perfect. He was the perfect father, husband, and friend; he will be truly missed. It’s hard to fully captivate his spirit because it was so massive and he left behind a void that can never be filled.

Dad, I’ll miss watching true crime with you, taking shots until we tap out, and going to chargers games with you. I’ll miss your random singing and songs you made up, the way you danced so terribly, you coming in my room to say “are you gonna fucking come hangout with me or not”, and our competitions in just about everything. The memories I have of you are endless and timeless. I hope you felt how much we loved you in this life; we love you more than anything. Nothing feels right without you here and it seems impossible to continue to live life.

I don’t know how we move forward without you but I know you are in heaven and I hope you are being met by our angels. I know you will continue to watch over our family and guide us. Rest in peace dad, I love you eternally in every life and I can’t wait until we meet again. ❤️‍🩹🕊️ by @raniciaaaa
