Global wealth is no longer moving in one direction.

Kishore Mahbubani has long argued that Asia is not simply emerging, it is returning to its historical economic and cultural weight.

One part of his thinking particularly resonates with me: modernisation does not necessarily mean Westernisation. Successful families can participate in a global economy without surrendering the culture, values or identity that shaped them.

I see this in my own work.

Many of the Indian families I meet are not choosing between India and Britain. Their businesses, capital, children and personal lives may span London, Mumbai or Delhi, Dubai and Singapore.

They assess what each city contributes: education, security, business access, lifestyle, diversification and long-term family legacy.

The interesting question is no longer which city “wins”. It is how a family builds intelligent optionality across several of them.

London remains extraordinarily compelling but global families are more comparative, informed and mobile than ever before.

My role is not simply to sell London property in isolation. It is to understand where London fits within a family’s wider map of wealth and life.

A glimpse into Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Bhaktivedanta Manor 💙

Janmashtami celebrates Krishnaji’s divine appearance in this world.

Krishnaji spent his childhood among the cows and cowherd community of Vrindavan. He is lovingly known as Gopala and Govinda. This relationship is one reason cows hold such deep significance across India.

Revered as Gau Mata, the cow represents motherhood, nourishment, gentleness and selfless giving. Cows have sustained families and agricultural communities across the Indian subcontinent for close to ten millennia, by providing milk like a mother provides milk for her child. Caring for and protecting them is therefore regarded as an expression of gratitude, compassion and ahimsa.

The Srimad Bhagavatam describes Kali Yuga as an age filled with faults and distractions. Yet it also tells us that this age carries one extraordinary blessing. Through sincerely chanting Krishna’s name, we can begin to free ourselves from material attachment and draw closer to the Divine.

It does not require perfection or hours of meditation. Even dedicating a small part of each day to chanting and remembrance can begin to transform something within us.
