‘Internal dialogue’
Oil on canvas, 130 x 190 cm

I’m always trying out new approaches with my work, new techniques and inspirations to translate my current state of mind. My recent endeavour has been an amalgamation of ideas and feelings bubbling since the summer, and a journey into self-awareness and understanding, as well as acceptance and forgiveness.

With my work I’m intuitively driven, finding a cathartic release of my continuous internal dialogue through painting. I am finding a new voice to express inner turmoil, when our minds wander in times of darkness and inner storm. Anger is an emotion I am only recently allowing myself to feel and release, rather than suppress, and the catalyst to this changed me in ways for which I am grateful. The shadow within us all is very real, and its acknowledgement is healthy, but ultimately it is the healthy awareness and control of it which serves us most.

WIP - ‘Barking mad’

I’ve been obsessed with the insides on animals mouths for some time now, the deep dark fleshy caverns fascinate me. The colours, the fact that this organ is a source of nourishment and affection, can also inflict bounds of pain to their prey.

Watch me fall down this rabbit hole 🚨

ATM & Coin Purse
Oil on canvas, 30 x 30

Originally one of my first two blue babes back in the summer in a drought of inspiration. Sometimes looking to hard only makes seeing harder.
