@travisbarker and more from my portrait studio at the @sixtymileseast opening reception last week Last week @riversidermag opened up their new exhibition at the @riversideartmuseum. The exhibit, titled “60 Miles East” showcases the underground punk, ska, and hardcore scene that occurred in Riverside back in the 90’s. A time where people like Travis would throw shows in garages, cafes, and other small venues. It was rad to see Riverside show up for the opening reception last week. If you didn’t get a chance to go, the show will be up until April of next year, so make sure to check it out. @itslanirose for his new single “Talking to a dove” 🕊️ Every once in a while as a photographer, you shoot a photo that reminds you of why you shoot in the first place. One that stops you after shooting and feels like magic. This was one of those photos for me. Lani and I both felt it in the moment and immediately felt the joy in the fact that we didn’t even plan a composition like this. And how we shot it in camera with no AI. It was such a beautiful moment and it was only right for this to be the start of his Album rollout. To add to the feeling, I used an old Polaroid composite technique I used to use a lot in collage. Which includes a lot of scanning and reprinting to give the painterly effect that would match the subject matter. Special thanks to the team at @anotherland and @xan.griffin for trusting the process.
