Nesse último ano a minha vida foi uma caixinha de surpresa. Ter me tornado Pai de Santo e aberto a Casa do Pai Joaquim foi até então o maior desafio da minha vida. Nunca em todo meu tempo de Umbanda eu pensei que esse dia chegaria tão rápido. Acho que a parte mais difícil desse processo foi aceitar que a espiritualidade tava me empurrando pra isso tão cedo, e sendo tão jovem. Claro que eu não poderia ter feito isso sem a ajuda de pessoas incríveis que a espiritualidade colocou no meu caminho, sem elas nada disso poderia ter acontecido. E então essa semana faz 1 ano que a Casa do Pai Joaquim começou a tomar forma, o sonho de um velho extremamente carinhoso e cuidadoso com os seus, encontrou um menino meio doido e disposto a mudar tudo pela espiritualidade. Esse ultimo ano tem sido desafiador e lindo ao mesmo tempo, uma mistura de águas doces e ventos turbulentos. Muito ansioso por tudo que ha de vir. Mas por hoje a gente segue um passo de cada vez, e enquanto Pai Joaquim nos der chão a gente continua caminhando.

to finish this series of posts off, i’ll leave you guys with a personal poem.

“There is a little box
with uneven angles,
a bright yellow box
of roses and rectangles.

“Existe uma pequena caixa
de ângulos tortos,
uma caixa amarela e viva,
de rosas e recortes.

Inside the little box
there is darkness —
not emptiness,
but fullness:
feelings folded into uncertainty.

Dentro da pequena caixa
mora a escuridão —
não o vazio,
mas o excesso:
sentimentos em confusão.

Inside that little box
there are sounds,
echoes bouncing around,
so loud,
yet never found.

Dentro dessa pequena caixa

ecos rodando,
tão altos,
tão fundos,
mas nunca escutados.

I’ve always been afraid
to open the little box,
afraid of what it hides,
afraid of what unlocks.

A fear so quiet,

i’m usually very good w/ words, and by that i mean that when i wanna speak about something or someone words just come to me. but i’ve spent this month thinking about what to say or how to say it. for you see, i’ve some people in my life and although not everyone that this message is for went on this trip. i still wanted to come here and express my gratitude. God has blessed me with the bestest of friends. friendship is something i question my whole life, after going through ups & downs, after being used and hurt, finding my family has been so gratifying. im still trying to learn how to love all of you, this past year has been a lot. And i’ve had to put myself first a lot, and a lot of times i know i haven’t been the best. but i wanted you all to know, that in my way i love you each and everyone of you so so so so much. im still looking for words, im still looking for meaning and definitely still looking for me. But i can say with confidence that i’ve found my family, some of you may go away, and some of you will live extraordinary lives, some will stay longer, others will be there every time we need each other. and yet knowing all of that, and knowing a bit of where life will take us. i’m excited for us. and what each one of us will accomplish. thank you for teaching me everyday about love and thank you for teaching me how to live life. and thank you for another amazing season. i am better because of each of you. this might feel like and ending, but it’s just the beginning.

Eu geralmente sou muito bom com palavras — e, com isso, quero dizer que, quando quero falar sobre algo ou alguém, as palavras simplesmente vêm até mim. Mas passei este último mês pensando no que dizer e em como dizer. Eu tenho algumas pessoas muito especiais na minha vida e, embora nem todo mundo para quem esta mensagem é destinada tenha participado dessa viagem, eu ainda queria vir aqui e expressar minha gratidão.
